For all those that have shared the journey with me, especially those that share my name. Thank you. Love you. This belongs as much to you as it does to me.

We. Are. Done.
Thank you to everyone for their positive comments, follows, retweets and likes. Can’t wait to watch all of our favorite MLB teams live again.
Baseball nerds: The Dodger Stadium RF scoreboard has a new layout for 2018, and now features OPS+, WAR, pitch type, hit distance, launch angle, mound visits... and an homage to the clock on the original board.
One thing about the late Kobe Bryant that I always appreciated: He was old-school and still favored the old baggy fits that were en vogue when he came into the league in 1996. As NBA uniforms became more fitted, he simply sized up to a 4XL.
With the help of
@bdainc
, we raised the bar on rally towels this year. Switching from screen print to a print sublimation process allows us to design in unlimited colors/tones and print art to the very edge of the towel. Hoping the fans dig 'em!
I’m biased, but it would be awesome if MLB put it’s backing behind a women’s major league softball league. Done right, I have no doubt it would be a money-maker and could carve a space in the pro sports landscape.
My favorite project of the offseason. Seriously! I wanted these to look similar to what I grew up with. And thank God onions are back for good!
@LevyRestaurants
Fortunate to have designed the traditional
#Dodgers
#WorldSeries
press pin once again in 2018. Featuring the signature hexagon shape of the DS scoreboard, along with a representative skyline of
#LosAngeles
spanning, as
@RandyNewman
would say, “from the Westside to the Eastside.”
Believe it or not, my life isn’t ALL about the
#Dodgers
🤣… Did this logo for my daughter’s softball org (San Gabriel Valley Fastpitch). The shape follows the OF dimensions of a softball field & got lucky with a perfect spot for home plate!
Don’t normally get the feels about sponsorship signage, but the
@76
ball atop the
#DodgerStadium
scoreboard just belongs, doesn’t it? (76 balls were the only ad signage in Dodger Stadium from 1962-1990)
We custom design scorebooks for our announcers. They all prefer different layouts for the scoring pages and we lay out to their individual specifications!
Happy to announce that our oldest will be joining
@HPUSharks
softball in 2022. Thank you to all family, friends and coaches who helped her along the way. 📷:

I woke up at peace today. We built our most expansive creative campaign ever via Zoom and plowed through an unprecedented design workload — all while navigating ever-changing COVID rules and social issues. Thanks to my crew (& those who support us) for a hell of a season.
Doing some Xmas clean-up on the Mac and came across a graphic that ended up in the graveyard (Contrary to popular belief, I do still actually design sometimes)…
In 1968, despite not being a US citizen & speaking little English, my dad was drafted into the US Army. He was stationed in Vietnam 1969-71. Guess immigrants are okay if you can drop them on the frontlines during wartime. Happy Father’s Day!
Got vaccinated today, thanks to my younger bro who’s a nurse. Unfortunately now the government and Bill Gates can track when I go to the bathroom, but hopefully it’ll be worth it.
Lot of In-N-Out slander today. I can understand not wanting to wait for it, but In-N-Out is a Southern California institution and continues to offer an excellent fast food burger at a great price. I will always defend them.
After years of trying to figure it out, I've discovered the typeface that served as the base for the Clippers' 1979-82 logo & uniform lettering. Virtual high-five to any fellow type nerds that can name the face…
Restraint is learned with experience… and I that's definitely true of an art director's feedback/criticism style. I've found that, instead of puffing out my chest & changing 25 things because I can, that if I take a step back, that piece might be good as is (or close to it)…
Belated THANK YOU to fellow Japanese American
@StephenNelson
for the on-air shout out of me and other JA Dodger employees on Japanese Heritage Night! 🇺🇸🇯🇵
The first year I watched Dodger baseball was 1981, which, of course, coincided with Fernandomania. Tonight will be a special night for me and all Dodger fans as Fernando Valenzuela's
#34
will be officially retired.
Little over ten years ago, our third daughter, Meagan, was born prematurely. She spent two weeks in the NICU, but, unfortunately, we were never able to bring her home. I am beyond happy for AJ and his family.
Took me a long time to learn this. Used to sleep at the stadium & pore over replays of games—not to watch baseball, but to obsess over signage & graphics. You gotta do what you gotta do, but understand you're not getting that time back. Prioritize yourself and your family.
ICE Cold Fact: If you don’t take a break, your body will take one for you… Even the most serious Hustler has to chill now and then to reboot and reset….
My idea for a new
#MLB
revenue stream. Bring back cool-looking pants and sell retail versions as sweatpants/joggers with pockets. Maybe throw a small logo on them somewhere? I'm keeping the Astros and Pirates samples, though.
Too much feedback & criticism kill designer morale. I've been on the other side. Let a designer have ownership in their project. And to not be afraid to make design decisions and take creative risks. You don't need to put your 'stamp' on everything.
I realize it’s a terribly polarizing subject, but I’m just going to come out and say it…

Having the DH in the National League wasn’t as terrible as I thought it’d be.
Don't know what our social team got themselves into today, but please thank them for their hard work (and pour one out for them while you're at it! 🤣).

Lot of things had to happen to get this flag flying… team had to win (obvs!),
@HevCollart
helped with research of past flags, worked with
@SmithJanetmarie
on design &
@ewaltcasa
had to get the 36’ flag produced. Seeing our flag flying made everything seem real. TY everyone!
My oldest’s first Dodger game on July 7, 2004. Current manager Dave Roberts batted leadoff for the
#Dodgers
, who beat the D-backs 11-0 that night. That little peanut is a senior in HS now.

We had over 57,000 votes last week, and it's time to do it all over again. Voting is open NOW for Southern California Girls Athlete of the Week!
Polls close Thursday at midnight!
For over six decades, Angelenos have been united by a team, a dream and a color. Whether you refer to that color as blue or azul, we all share a connection and an allegiance to a team that inspires our art and story. We are Los Angeles, somos Los Dodgers.
We're tackling the hot take - creative departments are revenue departments. CDG and Ross walk through 5 ways creative drives revenue for the organization and will reshape your perspective on the importance of creative.

Monterey Park is our hometown. Although the senseless shooting on Saturday night didn’t directly affect our family, my heart goes out to those who are dealing with this tragic event.

With the
#Dodgers
getting a brand new uniform set for the
#WorldSeries
, the 60th Anniversary patch worn home & away since Opening Day has been removed & replaced by the 2018 WS patch. RIP, 60th patch... the boys will try to win 4 more games without you!

Fun fact: The Chicago Bulls jersey, made iconic by the GOAT Michael Jordan, had HEAT-PRESSED numbers through 1991! Not silkscreened... IRONED ON digits like your average youth rec league jersey.
#TheLastDance
Notice how the
#Dodgers
#WorldSeries
patch is placed closer to the middle of the right sleeve. That’s to match the placement of the LA patch on our left sleeve.
Love how
@SmithJanetmarie
and team repurposed our old retired number discs! This was one of my first big projects long ago (Copperplate font! 😳). These originally lived under the Pavilion awning from 02-12.
Thrilled to be moving on to my fifth

as a full-time

designer. However, there is always a twinge of guilt when you know good people on the other side. Here's to many more

appearances for my

colleague and friend
@izziro
and his creative team.
For those that don’t know, I worked in the Dodger Stadium phone room part-time during my college years (96-99), answering customer service calls & taking ticket orders (323-224-1-HIT 🤣). An old buddy messaged me this and it has me feeling some kinda way… 😭😭🤣🤣
