September marks the busiest time for hurricanes! Take a look at the hurricanes that have reached the Texas gulf coast in September. The strongest being the Galveston hurricane and Carla. #txwx

September has been nice to us! We've seen a surplus these last two weeks boosting our annual rainfall to over 25" for San Antonio. Around 3" above normal for this time of year. #txwx

Beneficial rains this last weekend! On average, 1" - 3" of rainfall pushed across the region with higher totals locally. Much needed given ongoing drought and water restrictions. #txwx

While a few showers and storms are possible around San Antonio this weekend, the heaviest rain will be west of I-35. For areas closer to Del Rio and Uvalde will be a higher threat for flash flooding. Stay weather aware! #txwx

Hurricane #Lorena will weaken over northern Mexico this week. As the remnants push east this weekend, this will help generate some rain across Texas on Sunday. The exact track will determine flash flooding threats. #txwx

7:25 PM - A flood warning has been issued for Central Bexar county. Areas like Leon Valley, Live oak, Stone Oak and downtown San Antonio have observed 2"-3" already with more falling. This will lead to minor flooding along creeks, streams and flood prone streets. #txwx

A flood watch is in effect until 12 PM Monday for South Central Texas. Scattered storms that form between Sunday night and pre-dawn Monday will be capable of producing heavy rain. On average, expect 1"-3" with isolated areas exceeding 5"+. Stay weather aware! #txwx

10:10 PM - A large thunderstorm is dropping nearly 2-3" of rainfall per hour on the eastern side of San Antonio. Street ponding is possible as this storm slowly weakens through 11 PM. #txwx

Heads up for the holiday weekend! A slow moving cold front will stall somewhere across Central Texas. This will generate scattered rain and a few thunderstorms into Labor Day. #txwx

#Fernand is born! A weak tropical storm now over open water and has no threats to land. Tropical Storm Fernand will pass over 100 miles east of Bermuda, Monday afternoon. #tropics

A rare August cold front will push through Texas in a few days! Unfortunately, it will stall north of Austin mid-week. This will mean cooler temperatures for North Texas and a few showers around San Antonio, Tuesday and Wednesday. #txwx

Isolated storms will continue into the weekend. Don't let this cancel plans! Be aware storms will be floating around. Otherwise, seasonal temperatures and more sunshine as we wrap up August. #txwx

#Erin continues to track northward today. In the wake of this storm are three additional areas of tropical development! The Atlantic is staying BUSY this week! Next names are Fernand, Gabrielle, and Humberto. #tropics

Scattered showers and storms will stretch from Texas to the Southeast this week! Pockets of heavy rain will be possible between Tuesday and Saturday. Finally, an active pattern to help with drought and bring down the temperatures! #txwx

Hurricane #Erin continues to strengthen and is borderline a Category 5. The eye and track of the storm is drifting farther west than expected. A trend that will NEED to be watched. #tropiics

#ERIN is now a major Category 4 hurricane ⛈️😳 intensity exploded overnight with sustained winds at 130 MPH. This massive storm will stay north of the Caribbean and track west today. #tropics

A tropical wave will enter the Gulf this week! Depending on how far this tropical wave tracks north, it could mean increasing chances for showers and thunderstorms Saturday and Sunday for South Texas. Something to keep an eye on this week! #txwx

Intensity guidance suggests an upward trend for Tropical Storm #Erin this week. A favorable environment in the western Atlantic will strengthen this storm as it nears the Bahamas by early next week. #tropics

#Erin will near major hurricane strength this weekend as in passes just north of Puerto Rico and the northern Caribbean. A ridge of high pressure will help steer it north-northwest next week. #tropics
