additional info : “why coilswocket in particular?” tbh, i just paired them together randomly back when coil first came out. i never even thought this ship would stick with me, let alone become my biggest hyperfixation, but here we are lol

NOT saying this is exactly how it would go, it’s just my interpretation based on what we know so far if future info proves me wrong, fine, i’ll adjust. but right now THIS is why the dynamic makes sense to me. thanks for reading allat 😭 spent a while getting this done

If coil showed he’s not like the ones rocket left behind, that he’s independent, doing his own thing, not necessarily loyal to playground, rocket could be able to respect that i doubt rocket is prejudiced. (like, seriously, do we think they'd make rocket a racist character?)

-argument 3- : “rocket wouldn’t like coil, he’s from playground” rocket doesn’t HATE people from playground. he hates what the faction represents and what it did to him which makes him find playgrounders untrustworthy. there’s a difference in that 🫩

rocket and coil would clash at first, yeah.. they’re both loud, impulsive, and opinionated. but that’s why they’d click once they realize they’re basically two sides of the same coin. i believe they’d end up syncing naturally due to that

sword’s the kinda person who always tries to understand people. even when someone’s difficult, he doesn’t write them off he’s patient enough to handle coil’s attitude and would see past it. He wouldn’t take coil’s teasing personally (if he were to pick up on it)

-argument 2- : “they’d never get along” actually they could (dare i say would?) just not immediately. their personalities balance each other out in a way that kinda works

coil might pretend he doesn’t care, try n act tough, but he gets along with people who can keep up with him. he’s outgoing, he teases others, he enjoys reactions rocket and sword would both give him that. he’d find them entertaining (eventually more than that!!)

rocket on the other hand is curious and impulsive. I doubt he'd think twice about who he's forming an attachment to If coil happened to make him laugh once or proved he could handle himself in a fight rocket would probably go like “you’re cool we’re hanging out now”

firstly, sword especially is loyal to a fault. he doesn’t shut people out once they’ve earned even a little trust If coil showed up in the middle of a fight, helped him, or even just matched the prideful energy, sword would instantly take interest

-argument 1- : “rocket and sword are already best friends, coil doesn’t even know them. how would that even happen?” the connection could make sense if you actually look at who they are and how they act now we come to the point of how they would meet and why they'd be tgt :

sword would help coil think before acting, get him to calm down at times rocket would help sword loosen up, enjoy stuff coil would help rocket focus on things that matter instead of having him pent up over little things

together they balance each other which really makes coilswocket more than just some "rarepair" to me They fill in each other’s gaps like puzzle pieces fitting together. they can make up for each other's weaknesses

coil can act arrogant and reckless but we know he’s smarter and more thoughtful than he lets on. he does show genuine care when it's needed sword might be too oblivious to even acknowledge he's being joked with at times, while rocket would mess around with coil back

rocket’s energetic and impulsive, reacts harshly to hostile mannerism. he wants to be accepted and struggles w/ the past sword can give him reassurance and stability, while coil would give him some excitement and understanding (as he's dealt with similar things)

chemistry (?) : sword’s awkward and says things without thinking but he’s sincere. he tries to do what’s right and he genuinely cares about people. this makes him the grounding one in the group, the one holds things together when it gets too chaotic
