Too many people work harder on appearing like they have their shit together than actually getting their shit together.

The best therapists are bad a customer service. They are too busy being present and holding space for their clients. Then they will take care of themselves. Then, they might answer their emails. Something to keep in mind.

Mass AI adoption is propelling people to live even further out of their bodies and into their heads. People are forgetting how to think for themselves, let alone feel for themselves.

If the end goal is peace and contentment, then coaches and therapists need to lead by example. One can only learn so much from a therapist who is addicted to their phone, overly conscious of their response times, and obsessed with self image.

"You can't be sure nannies recognize every illness your child could get or handle every situation perfectly. You'd rather hire a robot—one that's cuddly, has an encyclopedic knowledge of medicine, memorizes every detail about your kid, and recognizes the exact pitch of their cry"

On a plane to Italy chatting with an Italian passenger next to me. I ask, “Why do you think Italy’s economy has struggled so much?”. Him: “People in Italy are already happy. They don’t want to overwork themselves and feel unhappy. People in the US are unhappy so they work to try.

I'm not denying that AI is fantastic for many things when it comes to mental health—it does a damn good job. This is for the AI maximalists, for the therapists, and for anyone who wants to leverage tech to better their mental health (and performance):

Will AI replace therapits?. Non-believers in therapy, i.e. people who haven't experienced meaningful transformation working alongside an empathetic professional, are keen to yell from the hills that AI will replace therapists.

Neurotics could benefit the most from somatic work. But it’s a hard sell. So start with lifting weights.
