The Petrol Retailers Association has written to Chancellor Rachel Reeves, accusing her of deploying "inaccurate characterisation and disappointing rhetoric" when she discussed forecourt operators in last week's Budget.

The forecourt sector provides over 85,000 jobs to the UK economy. Maintaining the ability to part ways with staff who are poor or negligent performers without the fear of opportunistic lawsuits is important and will give operators confidence to continue hiring workers. (2/2)
