We also explored psychopathy and found, at sentencing, three quarters of individuals had either psychopathic traits or a diagnosis of psychopathy. Future studies will explore other characteristics.

We conduct research to better understand the complexity and characteristics of those on an OLR. We examined the diversity of offending behaviour and found that a fifth of individuals had general, sexual, violent, and intimate partner offending.

Anyone who is subject to the OLR has a Risk Management Plan which sets out the monitoring, victim safety planning, supervision and intervention requirements to manage risk. We approve these plans against our Standards and oversee their implementation.

An integral part of the OLR is the punishment part, which is the minimum time to be spent in custody. For life sentence prisoners the average punishment part is 18 years, compared with less than four years for the OLR: https://t.co/pQj6Df5F3Q #RMAScot
