Had a great couple of days pub ticking in Brum and surroundings - so many great traditional pubs. Loved the Manor Arms, Rushall and Vine, Wednesfield.

Finally got round to visiting the Hope in Carshalton. 7 times London pub of the year - I could see why but wouldn’t be anywhere near my favourite in London

Larkins Traditional in the Rock, Chiddingstone Hoath. A great example of a Kentish bitter - perfect balance between malt and hops and highly drinkable

Visited Dagenham’s two NI 3* last night. Both excellent examples of large 1930’s pubs. The ‘Walnut’ room in the Eastbrook is one of finest pub rooms in the country

A visit to Halifax yesterday - what a great pub town. NI 3* Three Pigeons was good but the Big 6 was outstanding - everything you’d want in a traditional pub.

An interesting day - 3 x 3* NI visits in SE London. Not sure I’d go back to any of them but pleased I went

Lovely Sunday lunch in 3* NI Holly Bush at Makeney. I don’t think anywhere beats Derbyshire for great beer and unspoilt pubs

Finally made it to the Duke of York, Elton tonight - not an easy NI tick due to 8:30pm opening. Well worth the effort though as was amazing.

Visited Notting’s classic art deco pubs yesterday. Both good but Test Match more loved. Great beer in both but neither GBG - would be shoe-ins in London

Visited a couple of heritage 3* pubs in Derbyshire yesterday - both excellent. I’d forgotten how good Pedigree is when near home turf.

Fantastic couple of days in the South Downs. Lovely, unspoilt, rural pubs and beer in great condition much of it on stillage and gravity fed

Couple of pints this afternoon in the Carpenters Arms, Coldred. A fantastic, unspoilt village pub. £3.80/pint!

A wet but lovely walk from Hastings to Rye yesterday rewarded with a visit to the cracking Ypres Tavern. Missed the Queen.
