A number of people are talking about implications of AI to schools. I spoke about some of my thoughts to a school board earlier, some highlights: 1. You will never be able to detect the use of AI in homework. Full stop. All "detectors" of AI imo don't really work, can be
Gemini Nano Banana Pro can solve exam questions *in* the exam page image. With doodles, diagrams, all that. ChatGPT thinks these solutions are all correct except Se_2P_2 should be "diselenium diphosphide" and a spelling mistake (should be "thiocyanic acid" not "thoicyanic") :O

I saw a guy coding today. No cursor. No windsurf. No chatgpt. He just sat there. Typing code manually. Like a psychopath.

Y Combinator has helped create more than $800 billion in market value over 20 years. Thank you to Paul, Jessica, Trevor and Robert and Happy Birthday to the fixed point combinator that changed the world.
Y Combinator's 20th birthday is tomorrow. Here's what was happening on March 11, 2005: https://t.co/uEctjPUohb (Yeah, I know this tweet will get hidden because it has a link in it, and that I'm supposed to put the link in a reply. But that's so stupid that I refuse to do it.)

I hadn't seen @tursodatabase, but tbh it seems pretty cool - anyone using it? Some thoughts:
@roger Pretty interesting. Thoughts: Cons: Backups (+ restoring), migrations and customer-base analytics are going to be more complex...and it's just not the "normal way". Pros: Seems like kinda a win for security; you have just the attach/where the sqlite dbs are stored, vs

a) Changed the way I push things. Less traffic to the browser...same memory usage b) TIL, action cable pushes to chans with no active subs...why? c) https://t.co/CNQ3alvJPc
@palkan_tula nails my memory usage in 2018 😭. gonna checkout @any_cable

even with permessage-deflate, this isn't great. backstory; ported a project from crystal/redis to rails/postgis to try out the newer stuff like hotwire again. seems like pushing partials over the wire isn't gonna work well for this one... 😭
