@RGandE Good morning @RGandE That was a very cold night without power, but we’re hanging in there. 🥶 My street is looking forward to having heat/power again, but also want your line workers to be safe. Any idea when your website will be updated to more than “assessing” for restoration?

@OnlyRealJim We certainly appreciate your patience. We now have 1,800 line and tree service workers on the job across NYSEG on restoration efforts, with additional tree crews arriving this morning. Estimated restoration times will be updated as new information is received.

@RGandE Why doesn’t your app update? What does assessing mean? Why can’t we know more been without power since 11 PM!

@PollokDanielle @PollokDanielle We use the term assessing in larger outages to indicate our crews are out and working, assuring downed wires are made safe. We have 335 service workers across RG&E on restoration efforts, with additional tree crews arriving this morning.

@RGandE 24 hours without power & the only estimate I have on a time is either investigating or assessing. What does that even mean at this point

@LINOWIDGE Damage assessment is a crucial step in safe and efficient storm recovery. Accurate records of damage ensure that we send the right people and equipment to the impacted areas and complete repairs as safely and efficiently as possible.

@RGandE Hour 11 of no power. It’s frustrating the site just says “Investigating” with no estimated restoration time, even after this long. Hopefully people are busy just working to restore things. Here’s hoping it stays above freezing in the house.

@RGandE Thank you! I'm sure it was a difficult night for your employees and the people involved. That's a picture of my street. 6 hours without power wasn't too bad knowing people were on the job even with the frigid Temps.

@RGandE This is why I don't rely on public utilities for my safety and well being. Encourage EVERYONE to invest in one and fight Albany tooth and nail if they ever try to take our right away to be self sufficient. The government will NEVER be able to take care of you in realtime.

@RGandE Our little neighborhood is the only thing out in the 14467 zip code @RGandE 🤔 House is down to 41 & dropping, emptied the sump pump pit 6 times, and drained our water lines at 3am. First utility pickup truck came through at 8:30pm last night. Make it make sense - still assessing
