1/3 Mary began her nursing journey in 1948, enjoying a varied and exciting career as a nurse and midwife both in the NHS and in the private sector. During this time, she sought support from the RCN Foundation.

2/2 In 2023, at age 102, Colin broke the Guinness World Record for the oldest person to abseil. He abseiled from the helipad on the roof of the Royal London Hospital Building – light work for the former WW2 RAF pilot! Read more: https://t.co/EYUzf1LOOM Congratulations Colin! 👏

Whilst we welcome the independent commission into adult social care, it is disconcerting that the final report will not be published until 2028. Work is needed urgently in this sector, which is why we've invested over £700K to create the first Chair in Adult Social Care Nursing.

Data shows that in Scotland more than 700,000 nursing days were lost due to mental health since 2020. In 2024, we awarded 188 grants to applicants across the UK who were experiencing mental ill health - a 5% increase on the previous year. https://t.co/QUGHvfdztk
