Fear not the future since Christ is risen and the future is His. All other claims are counterfeit and will perish like chaff in the wind. No ideology, no scientific discovery, no technological invention can redeem mankind. Only Christ!

The widow’s mite was all she had to live on. She gave her life. Jesus sees Himself reflected in her for He, too, gave His life. He calls us to the same generosity and risk, to hold nothing back in our surrender to Him. To let go of control, trust and so to find final fulfilment.

He is the King of the Universe. Let Him be King of your universe. Pledge allegiance to Him with will, mind, heart, passions, emotions and body. Make your whole self a royal throne for your King!

In cleansing the Temple, Jesus cleanses Himself, the living Temple, not of any sin of His but of all ours. What he did symbolically in the Temple, He realised in actual reality on the Cross. He purified creation of sin and death. Let Him continually cleanse you!

The tears of Jesus burst forth from His divine sorrow at the damage we do to ourselves whenever we reject Him, in bigger or smaller ways. To reject Him is, in the end, eternal suicide.

I have a talk in Cardonald this evening on St. Carlo. My main point was that Carlo, like every saint, is a masterpiece of God, an example of what man can do if he freely works with grace. St. Carlo is a sign of the times, an opportunity from God to listen to Him speak today!

When God is before your eyes and in your awareness you will have the clarity to see and the zeal to enact what is true and good. Keep the first commandment first and the first commandment will keep you.

A heartfelt cry of faith to Jesus, Son of David and Lord, will stop Him in His tracks and put Him at your service for what you need. Be Bartimaeus!

No matter who and how many claim to be the Messiah or a messiah, they are by definition anti-messiahs, I.e. anti-christs. There is only One Messiah, One Christ and He will be unmistakeable and irrefutable when He appears. Wait on Him and abjure all others.

Humility is the acceptance of reality as it truly is. Pride is the imposition of what I want reality to be. Pride is fantasy. Humility is factual. There is no one more humble than God. That’s why true humanity is humility.

It was so beautiful this morning to have the whole school of St. Mary’s Primary, with a good number of parishioners, around the altar inside Largs Campus. I hope the children’s singing and prayers brought joy and comfort to one and all!
