The Red Ensign has been raised at the Maidenhead Town Hall to mark Merchant Navy Day, a day to remember and honour the brave men and women who kept the UK afloat during both World Wars.

The Merchant Navy Day flag-raising will now take place indoors at Maidenhead Town Hall due to bad weather. Residents are invited to view the ceremony, led by the Mayor, Cllr Mandy Brar, at 10am tomorrow. Following the ceremony the Red Ensign will be raised as weather allows.
