Final talk of the workshop: @DarioPasquali! He took this opportunity to present the evolution and current state of the "Always On" Cognitive Architecture, one of the biggest project of our lab 🧠🤖 The road ahead is still long, but we are loving how things are looking already 🔥

The first talk of the last day was an old friend of our lab: Letícia M. Berto! ✨ She presented the - extensive! - list of results of her Developmental Cognitive Architecture and the new project she is tackling in her Postdoc @OfficialUoM. What an incredible journey!

It's the third and final day of the workshop and we are celebrating in the traditional genovese way: #focaccia! 🤤 Everybody was as happy as the organizers are in this picture, Laura Triglia and @alefreedot, to be greeted by focaccia this morning ✨

Prof @gsandini closed the second day of the workshop with a look at the past, the present, and future, of our lab 📝 It was the perfect occasion to remark the importance of Developmental and Embodied Cognition 👶, especially in the current robotics boom 💥🤖

Dr. Doreen Jirak opened the second afternoon of the workshop with her work an maritime autonomous trasports 🚢 The hope is to assist workers in the field, diminishing their fatigue and therefore lowering the number of incidents caused by human error 🧑‍✈️

We then got back in #robotics territory with Dr. @nico_navarro_g 🤖 He remarked the importance of haptic in robotocs and teleoperation, and showed us the innovitive use of microphones to cheaply and reliably detect touch on a robotic hand 🦾 What an ingenious approach!

The second day started with a captivating talk by Dr. @PietroGravino (@SonyCSL): from spotting (fake) news 📰, to understanding their role and interaction with online discourse polarization 💢 Can we reduce toxicity online while keeping engagement high in social medias? 🫂

The last talk of the first day! João Vinícius, from @upeoficial_, presented the positive impact of his application of fuzzy logic for lag detection in time series, increasing the temporal plasticity in forecasting and drift adaptation 📈

The afternoon opened with Dr. Bruno Fernandes' explanation of Peer-to-Peer Federated Learning, it's possibilities and it's challenges. We think this emerging field will have a strong impact on future robots in social scenarios, and we are looking forward to that 🚀

It was then @alefreedot's turn, presenting the research direction(s) of our lab, all gravitating around our desire to make robots more *humane*: able to understand and be understood by humans 👥🤖 The trick to get there is seeing cognition as inherently social 🪄

Dr. Pablo Barros from @Sony is the first speaker of the WS! His work on Shrecknet aims to describe, store, and reason on complex contexts with long spanning dependencies... Learning from roleplaying games! 🎲 It's already impressive, can't wait to see it's future applications!
