Our first foray into multicomponent aminosilylation where we show excellent reactivity and selectivity without additive base activators is out in #OrgLett. It even works on complex molecules with -COOH groups! Congrats @LeonelBJimenez!

Crazy to see him gone. He was a valuable member of my doctoral committee when I was a graduate student at UCSD then he was an excellent colleague as I started my independent career here at UCSD. All this beyond just being a really great guy. Fly on my friend.
In memory of Professor Emeritus of Chemistry Arnold Rheingold. His contributions to the study of chemistry and x-ray crytallography were enormous. @UCSDChemBiochem

This looks familiar! Thanks for the hype. This was a fun study demonstrating there is definitely more mechanistic work to be done to fully understand PC-free radical generation from these salts.
Exogenous Photocatalyst-Free Aryl Radical Generation from Diaryliodonium Salts and use in Metal-Catalyzed C–H Arylation.
