It's been a while since I last posted this, so if you want to know of all the micro breweries in Northern Ireland, here's a wee list 🍻.

Ventured around Wales last week on the motorbike and this place in Aberystwyth was an interesting find. Mashed Brewhouse aka Dark Farm brew beer to be only sold on site. They also sell brewing equipment and run home brew classes 🍻

Seismic news in the Irish beer scene as Ireland's oldest independent brewery, @hildenbrewery in County Antrim, appears to have brewed its final batch.

Every wee while a beer will take your breath away. Enter The Light Gatherer, a barleywine from @SirenCraftBrew. Aged for 4 years in bourbon cask, 13.6% ABV, it's hugely deep and chewy, full of fig, Christmas cake, woody spice, sweet bourbon and creamy vanilla. An absolute treat.

I first discovered the @hildenbrewery wheat beer Barney's Brew shortly after its release in 2008 and it has always been my favourite of their core range. Named after the 19th century Belfast baker Barney Hughes, it's 5% ABV and spiced with cardamom, coriander and black pepper.

Another brewery soon for County Armagh.
