Former Samford University, Div 1 QB. Training and development for the best position in all of sports, middle school, high school, collegiate, and NFL QB's.
Playing quarterback goes far beyond the field, it’s a part of who you are and the lessons learned never end…
Thank you
@QBCountry
for sharing my part of this story and celebrating this position!

Qb is a hard position. Arguably, the hardest position in all of sports, the KC Chiefs think so. Perfectionism kills passion. We try to teach... never be content with failure, but don't let it ruin your day. Chasing perfection is the battle, not becoming perfect. Enjoy the chase!
HS QBs: If this is your last practice week...
Thank every senior, thank every coach, soak up practice and the locker room, and thank God for the game of football!
Shea has found a way to surprise me every day of training so far and we're just getting started.
He's a complete thrower, enormous competitor, explosive play maker, and a truly STEADY leader.
Keep earning your way Shea!
Tonight will be the culmination of over a decade of work and preparation for you. I consider myself extremely lucky to have been a small part in the final two months. Good luck tonight Shea! Trust your stuff.
Pro day prep starts next week!
@SheaPatterson_1
UAB QB

is sharp as ever. Competitor, polished, and confident.
This picture is what we are looking for at release.
Upright torso and head, aligned
Elbow leading the throw
Compact upper body
Athletic lower body

Super happy for Devlin and the
@steelers
- Never underestimate how hard it is to get a win! Keep learning, keep executing!
You've worked for this moment for a long time.
Former
@SamfordFootball
QB
@DevlinHodges10
is looking extremely sharp headed into pre- season with Pittsburgh. He can throw it with anyone at any level. Good luck Duck, we're pulling for you. 👊
Get to know 5 star QB, Christopher Vizzina before his Senior year as we look back at a training day with him this summer!

@vizzina2
QB Training in Birmingham is back in full swing for the summer!
As a QB you have to love the field. Every part of it, easy days, hard ones, fun times, mundane drills, sweat, frustration, progress, competition, victory.
Let's get it!
Shea is one of the most complete athletes at the QB position in this draft. He's faced adversity and still come out on top on the biggest stage in his arena his whole life. Not many can match his drive.
I don't expect anything to change in the NFL.
Good luck!
@SheaPatterson_1
Performing under pressure is a learned skill just like anything else.
If you are accustomed to the pressure you learn how to ignore, tune out, embrace, deal with it, etc... whatever works for you.
Basically the more you are in it, the more you learn to get the job done anyway
We've been at this for a long time guys....I pray, for all of us, that the journey makes us who we are and that who we are takes us to the finish line!
Everyone in this pic has trained for 2+ years. Some of them 6!
Young QBs need to watch this..
Perfect Ball? No.
Perfect mechanics? No.
Perfect pocket? No.
Huge play? Yes.
Playing Qb is so much more then perfecting a spiral.
Day 1 on the field with
@SheaPatterson_1
and this guy came to work. Already impressed with his attention to detail, focus, and work mentality on the field.
I started training QBs right when I finished playing in college, Almost 9 years ago. I’ve learned a ton and met so many great kids and coaches, thank you to everyone who has come to get a little better!

QBs: See if you can do these 1/ wk.
🔹Hang out w/ a teammate you normally wouldn't
🔹Study a play, protection, front, or coverage in depth
🔹Have a conversation w/ 1 of your coaches
🔹Organize a pick-up game - move, play, compete
🔹Hug an O-lineman!
Finish 💪
Pre- combine prep is beginning to wind down but in reality the process for these guys is just starting. You've both set a great foundation for being professionals and the work ethic and focus that goes along with that. It's just the beginning.
@QBCountry
@IMGAcademy
Devlin Hodges won the Walter Peyton award(the Heisman for FCS) in 2018 and he just beat the 2017 & 18 Heisman trophy winners 2 weeks in a row!
@DevlinHodges10
@QBCountry
Good attitude for QB's to have too. Talked with several of them about this recently. Take ownership, even when it hurts. Give credit to others, even when you did your part too.
“If anything goes bad, I did it. If anything is semi-good, we did it. If anything goes really good, then you did it. That’s all it takes to get people to win football games for you.” Bear Bryant
Pumped for
@kaleb_barker
and the opportunity to help him get ready for his Pro Day at Troy!
QBC guy since HS!
"Kaleb is one of the most talented Qb's I've ever coached, his best ball is in front of him and I believe he has a chance to play in the NFL" - Troy HC Chip Lindsey
UAB QB
@TJohnston0130
is locked in getting ready for a big season!
He's already proven so much in his career and says he still has more to show!
Kid never stops improving!
Learning not only to accept constructive criticism, but to seek it out is key to improvement.
Ask for feedback, communicate with coaches, be self aware.
Alex Hornibrook may be the most underrated QB in the 2020 Draft - I'm not sure why.
Winner- 26-6 at Wisconsin
Playmaker - 2nd all time in TD's at UW
Gamer - Orange Bowl MVP
He already thinks and prepares like a PRO! Good luck Alex!
@QBCountry
Good luck
@DevlinHodges10
at the STATS FCS banquet as 1 of 3
@walterpayton
award finalist! Pulling for you.
Devlin is the FCS ALL-TIME leader in passing yards and completions. An NCAA career like this comes once in a decade +.
@QBCountry
It's been a challenging year, but we've made the best of it this off-season in Birmingham! A lot of guys put in a lot of work. Here's just a few clips of what we've been doing all year.
Let's hope they are able to play this Fall!

A quicker release is usually intentional at first. Purposefully speed up each part of the drop, alignment, and throw. Practicing this over time will improve movement patterns and speed.
Higher consistency with higher intensity is always the goal.
It's cold but we are working.
You can always find a reason to skip a day of training for something - cold, tired, sore, too busy, other things to do, "one day won't hurt" but the guys who reject that and find a way to work will be stacking up the reps!
@QBCountry
IMO - patience on RPO's and play actions is key. Don't rush it. Be prepared to make the read, be patient and let it develop, then initiate quick feet and hands.
We use this drill to help QBs keep an athletic base in the pocket, perfect their alignment and anticipation, while forcing them to up their tempo
A lot of guys don’t lead WRs well b/c they don’t anticipate well, IMO this drill helps
@dezmountie5
makes it look pretty easy here.
Qbs: hopefully you've found your pregame routine by now. Remember it, keep it consistent.
Visualize Successful plays
Process and dismiss nerves/ distractions
Enjoy the opportunity to compete
Fight the urge to focus on the result
Playing Quarterback at a high level requires Poise, Posture, and Presence.
Over the next 3 weeks we will talk about each of these characteristics in our new Tip of the Week video series.
Check back tonight for a video talking about the importance of having Poise as a QB.
Most under the radar QB in Alabama. Vestavia's Eli Sawyer (2020)has D1 Arm Strength, D1 Arm Talent, D1 Accuracy.... and his film shows it!
By the way, he can move, throws with great touch, and anticipation. Confident. Leader.
Senior HL so far...
"We need to help kids develop more tolerance against anxiety, best way to do that is to allow them to take small risks.. Let them climb a tree, maybe they fall and break their arm, but that's they learn how high they can climb." KR Lewis on parenting.
Applies to coaching too.
The staff at
@QBCountry
thinks that
@bennett_m3
has P5 starting ability. I've seen him grow and develop as a QB since 6th grade. He is a champion, winner, leader, instinctive QB, and dang talented. Leading Hoover to 6-0 start.
Mid-Season tape -
This was the accumulation of off season training last year. As we start training for this year keep the end goal in mind.
At times it's good to put your head down and work, but make sure you look up every now and then to check yourself.
@pjb_media
@QBCountry
Vandy Commit and James Clemens HS QB,
@Jamil_qb12
working in this week! Awesome seeing you again bro!
Impressive kid who will be successful at any level.
Glad he's working with
@PrepPerformance
too.
'22 Pinson Valley QB
@zach_pyron_05
is a STUD. He's having a great year and is one of the most sought-after recruits in the state! Largely due to the amount of work he's put in over the years! Proud of you Zach!
Boy can spin it!
@QBCountry
@QBC_Recruit
1 of the things I love about QB is that playing it is an enormous privilege. There are many benefits, but u have 2 earn those benefits every day n the locker room, practice, weightroom, film, classroom, gameday. It's a public position and if you don't step up you'll be exposed.
There are several '20 Qbs that have done a great job this year, but these 3 have stood out in the first 4 games of their senior season. Mid-season HL's 👇
Eli Sawyer-
Jake Corkren-
Brandon Mcneal-
Things to note for young QBs...
1. What he's saying is true... "do your job, trust your teammates".
2. Speak from your heart "I truly believe..."
3. When something needs to be said, say it.
4. Leadership unites... "we"
This isn’t a coach. This isn’t a quote on a wall. This is LEADERSHIP!
You want to win...you better have some players who are willing to step up and LEAD the team to victory!
PLAYER LED > COACH FED
Several schools in Bama starting Spring training this week! Use this as a test to see where your game is! Don't think about corrections mechanically during Spring Practice, that is what the off season was for. Focus on learning/executing your offense & leading!
A few clips of Shea's training this winter. He's got incredible energy and passion for this sport & the skill set to match He's an ELITE thrower. Not only is he talented He is the type of guy you go to battle with I can not wait to see Shea Patterson in the NFL
@SheaPatterson_1
The Dream was always to play on Sundays. But the mission would be bigger than that.
For 2 decades we’ve been training QBs on any field that was open. The ups & downs, defeats & championships…we have stories to tell! Let us start by telling you how it all began.
