We are reaching the end of our podcast anyway, probably around ep 50 or so. Therefore it seems a good time to mention that we won't be on twitter anymore. For what time have remaining, we'll be on cerulean heavens.

Catch-up ep ! Sunyi and Scott discuss career momentum, cheerfully losing at the Hugos, and pushback on Reddit. And finally, they each get to give the pettiest hill they'd die on. Hint: Sunyi's hill starts with "J" and ends in "owling". https://t.co/NNAnMwf4aL

Querying alone is a standardized enough process that it's possible to find reputable, free source for it. In fact, @mstevensonbooks put together a whole database/website for this. The OG post reminds me of how many newer lit mags also charge hefty submission/application fees.

For clarity, it's the pushiness that exasperates me. I don't expect publicists to automatically know what the cast is about and it's fine to ask the first time, but damn, learn the word "no".

Going to be really unprofesh for a second (you're all shocked, I'm sure 😂) and just say how much I loathe pushy publicists who keep pitching an author even after I've said 'no'. We arent "that kind" of author interview podcast, and we don't do nonfic or memoirs, pls stahp 💀

Planning to come to Worldcon, but feeling a bit lost? Myself and a few author friends are doing some casual, pop-up socials. Like a kaffeelatsch, but even less formal 😆 Feel free to drop by and chat!

Authors are expected to juggle many different demands on their time and energy--from social media and self-promotion, to side projects and live events. How do we decide what is or isn't worth our efforts, and where do we set boundaries to prevent burnout and overwhelm? 1/2
