W5 has been cancelled. It debuted in 1966 & was the longest-running current affairs/newsmagazine in North America & Canada's third-longest running TV show ever. Hosts have included Sandie Rinaldo, Lloyd Robertson & Morley Safer. It inspired other shows, including 60 Minutes.

Very disappointed to hear that Bell Media is cancelling W5. I spent 17 years with the show. It's had some great years and broken some fantastic investigations. This is what comes of the CRTC not holding Bell accountable for it's programming.

Holy crap. Media in Canada is a mess. W5 is/was an incredibly needed. investigative program
CTV News at Noon is being cut everywhere except Toronto. Weekend news being cut except Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa. No news on holidays. And W5 is being cancelled, though the brand will be integrated into CTV National News.

On the other side of the 🌎 so just seeing the Bell cuts 😢… Especially gutted for my former W5 colleagues. What a loss for 🇨🇦 in investigative, deep dive work. I hope people know this was North America’s LONGEST running current affairs/news mag show — it inspired 60 minutes!
