Ground number 75 of the current 92: Grimsby Town v Shrewsbury Town at Blundell Park (which, strictly, is in Cleethorpes not Grimsby). It has that ‘wind straight off the North Sea’ Pittodrie feeling.

I was at this one on 21-12-1991. Second win of the season for us at Carrow Road, having won 2-1 on 23-10-1991 in the Zenith Data Systems Cup, which I remember having a really low away attendance (about 150 of us).
It’s the anniversary of this injury-time winner by QPR’s Dennis Bailey at Carrow Road in 1991. The finish is tidy, but the star of the show is wily old Ray Wilkins - gently rolling it into his path like a putt on the 18th green at Augusta. Exquisite.

Imagine how spitting mad I am to have been told at the Post Office that I need to complete a customs form to send a book as a gift to someone in Northern Ireland. Thank you Brexit - this is what ‘taking back control’ looks like.

Bright would be one of the best wingers in the world if he didn’t get converted to a RB in Turkey. In the same team as Eze, he was a MUCH more effective footballer. Him getting subbed at HT on Tuesday in a poor Birmingham display really summed up how far he’s fallen…
On this day in 2019 🗓️ Bright Osayi-Samuel dribbled from his own half and scored this wondergoal for QPR! 🙌🤩 https://t.co/rteXYZUgDZ

My brothers and I relied on free school meals growing up. Proud that City Hall has now funded 100 million of them for London’s state primary school children ♥️

I’m at the launch of the ‘No Limits 2026’ campaign, which is Hertfordshire’s Year of Disabilty Sport and Physical Activity. It’s an exciting opportunity to promote inclusive sport, not least Hertfordshire Comets visually impaired cricket. @HertsComets @hertscricket #NoLimits2026

When Denis Healey delivered the 1976 budget, he walked from 11 Downing Street to Parliament. On the way, he spoke to members of the public -- in three different languages. He spoke French to a group of French tourists and German to a German visitor.

I am so pleased to be one of seven from 200+ candidates elected to the Council of the @nationaltrust at the Trust’s AGM in Swindon today. It is a privilege to represent 5.35 million members, and I look forward to doing so in my three year term.
