Today is my final day in office as President of UVA, and I’ve recorded a few thoughts in this video. Serving in this role has been the honor of a lifetime.

Speaking of which, thanks also to all who reached out by email, text, or phone. It was a little overwhelming, to be honest, but deeply appreciated. I promise I will get back to each of you, but it might take just a bit. Thanks again. You have buoyed both my spirits and my faith.

4,380 days: that’s how long my friend and colleague Robert Hardie has served as a member of the Board of Visitors. I spoke with Robert for Inside UVA as he completes his term as the 50th Rector of the University of Virginia.
