The African Academy of Sciences is hosting its 2025 Conference in Accra for its ARISE Programme. It has been a great initiative in partnership with the Government of Ghana and the University of Ghana. The focus is on young African scientists. Congratulations to all the partners.

We have just spent a most pleasant evening of dinner at home with the President of Barbados, Dame Sandra Mason. Accompanied by the Ambassador of Barbados to Ghana, HE Juliette Sutherland, it has been simply great ๐๐ฝ Dame Sandra is visiting Ghana for 4 days with her son.

I have just had a great meeting with the OAA 2002 Year Group to discuss their proposed legacy project at Achimota School. The Group proposes to build a new house for boys to mark 25 years of leaving school and 100 years of the School in 2027. We are grateful to 2002 Year Group ๐๐พ

The Board of Achimota School has inaugurated 6 Committees to facilitate its work. The Committees are 1) Academic, (2) Finance, (3) Projects, (4) Land and Legal, (5) Discipline, and (6) Facilities Naming. About 90% of members are distinguished Akoras of all generations. Ayekoo ๐๐พ

Itโs great to return to University of Pretoria for the 2025 Senate Conference. The new VC, Prof Francis Petersen, set the tone with his opening remarks. He identified some areas in which UP research must grow. UP is determined to provide research leadership in Africa.
