Our friend Mark Dixon is being laid to rest today. Mark was a gentleman and a scholar. He founded the Paramedic degree in Ireland and his research changed practice, impacting patient care daily. His legacy lives on but we will miss him dearly. Ni bheidh a leithéid ann arís

Honoured to be among the Top 2% of Scientists (according to Stanford). Thank you to the friends, collaborators, patients and staff in universities, research institutes, funding agencies, hospitals and primary care who make our work relevant and my professional role so enjoyable!

There is a clear alignment between third level institutions and healthcare systems. This is as true internationally as in Ireland. I had the opportunity to discuss some aspects of this in a broad interview @UL @HSELive Available on Youtube. https://t.co/MERQhRySW9

The academic year is busy and there are few opportunities for us who work primarily across different university campuses, GP practices & hospitals to meet. Graduation Day is special. We celebrate and are proud of the new doctors, from Ireland and further afield. Congratulations!!

Supervising PhD candidates is a privilege as they realise their potential to make significant contributions to knowledge and society. I was very proud to support and guide Dr James Baden Powell. Like his namesake, prepared for more amazing achievements Congratulations Dr Powell!

It was a pleasure to see Dr Ruth O’Connor conferred with a PhD at University of Limerick graduations. As co-supervisor, I was part of a team aiding Ruth as she developed new insights into microbial involvement in tumour microenvironments. That’s exciting! Congrats Dr O’Connor!!!
