4.) Extension (pt.2). ⁃In the 1.91 video, because his movements are clean and precise, he allows himself more time behind the baseball which results in greater extension, more velocity, and more backspin.

4.) Extension. ⁃Due to all of the factors listed above, in the 2.07 video, Seth spends more time correcting his wasted movement, which results in less time behind the baseball.

3.) Maintaining Direction Through Separation (pt.2). ⁃In the 1.91 video, Seth maintains about 20 degrees of internal rotation as he separates his lower half. This results in less time needed to re-adjust his alignment to 2B, and more time to rotate into his front hip.

3.) Maintaining Direction Through Separation. ⁃In the 2.07, Seth’s front hip is slightly over rotated (internally) as he separates his lower half. Because of this, he has to spend a bit extra time getting his front knee and hip pointed towards 2B at release.

2.) Time On Back Side. ⁃In the 2.07 video, Seth doesn’t fully engage his back hip, and pushes out of it as he separates.⁃In the 1.91 video, Seth does a better job of sinking into his back hip as he separates and begins rotating.

In order to decrease our pop time, we need to make 2 general adjustments. 1.) Create a more efficient throwing sequence (Clean up our mechanics).2.) Give ourself more time behind the baseball. Less wasted movement = More time behind the baseball.——.

Spot The Difference? 👀⬇️.——.For context, the athlete highlighted is Seth Kirby. Seth’s best 3 ‘Entry Poptimes’ coming into my program were 2.07, 2.17, and 2.22. Seth’s best 3 ‘Week #2 Poptimes’ half way through my program were 1.96, 1.94, and 1.91.——.
