Exhibitions may change but it will be hard costs rather than changes in fashion that force the change.

This can mean that over time suppliers will choose not to bring machinery to an exhibition, changing the nature of show business. If nothing else the costs are horrendous and with even Drupa reducing its duration, there must be less machinery to see.

But this is not an either/or. Both serve a function at different stages in the decision process. The exhibition is at the ‘capture’ stage, the bespoke demonstration at the ‘conversion’ stage.

After a Covid created hiatus the exhibition business, and not just for printing, is enjoying good business. Last week, this meant queues of traffic and car park full signs. Their drivers may not have been heading for the Print Show as at least three others were taking place
