Huge thanks to @AndyBurnhamGM who joined students from @StAmbroseColl this afternoon to discuss issues surrounding homelessness. The Q&A session inspired our students and thoughts now turn to how our school community can take positive action. #compassionforthoseinneed

2/2 I can't think of many benefits for continuing in to July but see several in finishing when GCSE/A levels are done and then starting back earlier given that, for many, the results days mark the end of the holidays anyway.

1/2 I tend to avoid the EduTwitter 'discussions' or any public comment on some controversial issues but I've been fairly vocal on term dates frustrations. I'm at a point now where I don't see any reason for English schools being open in July. Finish in June as happens in NI.

End of term message was 'Go to the well, wherever your well may be'. My well is a particular type of well; The Brandywell, Derry City. Couldn't be happier to have made it in time.

An amazing day and thankfully the weather held. Huge thanks to Miss McCrory and all who helped organise. I'm sure my legs will feel fine in the morning.
Great weather today for our annual sponsored walk. We are raising money so that our sister school (St Ambrose Academy) can build more classrooms. Well done to all students for your efforts with fundraising this term! #compassionforthoseinneed

It was a privilege to host given the huge week for politics. Thanks to the candidates for their time & to Ben from CARITAS for helping to coordinate. On Wednesday, it's the turn of the students representing the different parties to take the questions ahead of our mock election.
We are delighted to host a General Election Hustings this afternoon, joined by candidates for the Altrincham & Sale West constituency. Students of all ages joined the debate posing excellent questions for our panel. Food for thought as we head towards Thursday .....
