Lanthimos' *Kinds of Kindness* feels like a wealthy MFA student received warmish feedback on 3 stories and had their daddy fund a Hollywood venture. A talented cast performs the unrelated vignettes with vague themes of physical control. Proof opacity is no shortcut to meaningful.

The secret to perfectly executing something as seemingly simple as a margarita is balance. Starita, in the Materdei neighbourhood of Naples, has mastered the ratio of mozzarella’s salty tang, San Marzano sweetness and bitter carbonisation burnt across the crust. Top Chromps!

The constituent ingredients in Crappie’s Rhubarb Ginger Beer should be right up the Chomper’s street yet there’s too much of a discordant battle between these two powerful flavours with neither winning dominance and neither willing to offer complimentary servitude to the other.

Watching @NormalPeopleBBC is like listening to a Chemical Brothers 7-inch at 33 RPM, you can clearly make out the artistic ambition, the creative merits and it’s generally a really cool experience yet there’s a niggling feeling that it’s running about 27% too slowly.

Beware @bookingcom — a friend has been scammed out of £3500 in spite of the transaction and all communications taking place over @bookingcom’s own website. They refuse to assist despite a member of their staff previously confirming the customer was eligible for a full refund.

My dinner at @EdFoodStudio was the best non-Michelin starred meal I’ve ever eaten. Particularly great saucier work. Local, ingredient-led, unfussy and delicious. Top chomps.

Top chomps go to @ForageChatter for an outstanding meal that was also remarkably good value. Every course was refined and smartly composed. The sweetbread starter stole the show, besting many Michelin rivals. Staff, wine list and setting were all disarming, warm and memorable.

Dinner at @BurjAlArab’s flagship restaurant, Al Muntaha, was fine; such an unwelcome little adverb. Waitstaff were friendly but unpolished, the food was tasty yet unremarkable, a general complacency pervaded. Too much rests on the iconic location and nothing justifies the price.

There’s no better Sunday night viewing than @BBCOne’s #fakeorfortune: suspense, mystery, culture, criminality, feel good moments (poor people striking it rich), feel even better moments (smug people getting duped), a classic villain (The Wildenstein Institute) - just tops.

With waitstaff allowed to combine their regional personalities with slick professionalism, The Ledbury in Notting Hill could be the multi-starred fine dining experience best suited to those intimidated or irked by the stuffy atmospheres at establishments elsewhere. #TheLedbury

When you’re bantering with a pal & think, this should be a podcast/#edfringe show - that would be a disaster for 99% but @SofieHagen & @JodieMitchell_ nail it. Not everything catches fire but recalling their deadbeat fathers through the contextual framework of palaeontology does!

Having seen his excellent ten, I suspect yesterday’s show wasn’t the best of @alexkealy’s #edfringe. The material (politics & love) was fresh & funny but his stage craft was off: mumbled punchlines, rushed delivery, tangible awkwardness when gags didn’t land, ended after 45mins.

Trying out new stuff & running at 75%, Kitson at @StandComedyClub is still the top show of #edfringe. Open disdain for the audience; linguistic pyrotechnics; Socratic-like insight into modern life; the audacity of a @SHendry775 reference that ostracised the vast majority. Gold!

Had high hopes for @TheCity95: the decor was bright and the staff attentive but the food was middling. The haddock was large and tasty, the burger was satisfying if lacking fireworks, and the chips’ temperature and texture suggested they’d been hanging around. #Foodie #reviews
