Leaders, if you ask someone if you can ‘have a quick chat at the end of the day’ at least have the decency to tell them what it’s about. It will save a lot of wasted worry.

As if our camp family wasn’t amazing enough, the love we felt on that day once we returned was incredible. Can’t believe it’s been 20 years since this horrible day & 20 years since the best summer that changed my life.

They gave us as much time as we needed to call and email family & friends. Letting us use the camp phones and not our phone cards. The rest of the camp staff were told after we were taken to contact ppl.

3 of us were from Edgware so you can imagine the panic until we realised it was the latter. Still, we were Londoners. This was all before smart phones + we were in the middle of nowhere for internet in PA.

20 years ago on 7/7, I was a cabin counsellor in the US. They pulled all the UK staff aside before breakfast to tell us what had happened. Slight error on their part, they told us Edgware, not Edgware Road.
