My local Sainsbury’s have removed the clear screens between each self service till. Whilst I understand restrictions have been lifted, I find it odd that you would actively remove a physical measure which helps to keep people safe.

My single mum Y6 teachers 5yo’s school is closed due to too many staff isolating. Today he was in her classroom, with his laptop & headphones doing his remote live lessons while she taught her class at the same time. The Y6s were so quiet to make sure he could hear his teacher.❤️

Today I very nearly thought we were failing our kids by not doing live lessons. Then I remembered; large families, shared devices, lack of internet, lack of of English, living in multi-occupancy/sublet rooms & living in outhouses. We are doing our very best.

Staff members household member tested +ve Tues. We asked staff member to not return until 7 days of LFTs done. Today was day 5, she just tested +ve. Imagine how many of our school community we protected. Budget taken a hit but safety first. Decision making pressure all time high.

Heard of a HT who won’t allow a staff member paid LOA for funeral of a family member bcos the family member isn’t a ‘near relative’ despite this person not having many ‘near relatives’ so this ‘further relative’ behaved like a ‘near relative.’ HTs like this giving us a bad name.

Two reasons we didn’t want to be HTs: 1. Having to sort out staff disagreements with each other. 2. Parents threatening us with solicitors (because a staff member didn’t greet them as they arrived at school). We are having to deal with both at the moment and it’s so draining.
