If HR is correct, this oversight is easy to fix for our pay and conditions (let us take the 2 weeks in 2 flexible blocks) #NEUnion #NASUWT @bphillipsonMP #TheDadShift #SupportWorkingParents @TeachersSPL have been great for my wife but even this service doesn't go far enough.

Came across a UK teacher quirk with pat leave. HR said I start pat leave midweek before halfterm + it continues into halfterm (can only take in week blocks) I can't claim back that missed time. Seems mean when my son was born on Wed #PaternityLeave #TwoWeeksIsntEnough #edutwitter

I am starting to question if people like this have ever seen a classroom. This is just not the reality on the ground when it comes to tech use in the classroom https://t.co/2MULW752fK

I’ve examined how commercial technologies reshape education – often in ways parents instinctively resist, but are told to ignore, says academic Velislava Hillman

Hey @StarbucksUK. Why can't you donate what is left on a gift card to charity? Had 45p left on a card. Seems rather silly. #annoying #charity

#Sooperbooks is a great free resource. Lots of books (we looked at the fairy tales for this lesson) all for free. They have audio book versions (paid subscription) and I wish I could get a school subscription for it #education #story #ks1 #teaching #teachingtips #stories

This might be the coolest thing a child has ever bought in to show. Part of a thigh bone for a Woolly Mammoth #talkingpoint #history #cool #random #randomteachermoments #teaching

For a Yr 3 STEM session this week, we looked at colour and how certain colours are easier to remove than others when making videos. This is their first introduction to editing videos @DoInkTweets is still the easiest to use #stem #education #primaryschool #teacher #teacheruk

As a child, I can't imagine being given anything more boring than this #edutwitter #education #lidl Next it will be wooden missing number on a numberlines.

Won't name the phonic scheme but the book for this week's sound had 12 "ir" words to 162 other words. That isn't too bad if half of the 12 "ir" words weren't names, like the most popular "ir" word Dirk. Not sure how this book passed the sniff test #education #phonics #edutwitter

The time frame of this is interesting. Any parent in the independent sector will start applying for a state school in January as a precaution. Surely a September 2025 is more manageable for everyone #labour #independentschools #edutwitter
BREAKING: Labour has announced that it will introduce 20% VAT on private school fees from 1st January, 2025 The fee will also apply to **pre-payment of fees**, which many private schools have offered parents as a potential way round the tax rises

It probably isn't a great policy if it means larger class sizes while not generating enough to plug the stagnation in funding left by Tories. Is there anybody left in politics who cares about education? #edutwitter #education
Labour's policy on larger class sizes: "it's fine" It's clear: Labour would destroy our education standards as they have done every time they've had power.
