, My take on this article is that many many many drivers have bought pickups for no reason other than to have one. There is a shortage now and those that actually need one can’t get one. This is a real problem.
@PremierScottMoe
I wonder if
@marcusbgee
understands that a Tesla model S weighs more than a 2021 Ford F-150 XL 4x2 with a 6.5 box. So when he talks about behemoths running down the road. There will be considerable more of them after 2035 than currently.
@PremierScottMoe
My policy is if you see a construction site with lots of cars parked around it you know it a lousy build. Pickup trucks build our country.
@PremierScottMoe
The article is not an attack on the thousands of men and women who's livelihood is dependent on trucks. It's not an attack on Saskatchewan. It's pointing out the increased truck ownership by city folks who do not require one. It's a fair article
@PremierScottMoe
Seriously, Scott.... What does an officer worker, who lives in a city, needs a truck for work?
What does an nurse or doctor, who lives in a city, needs a truck for work?
What does an teacher, who lives in a city, needs a truck for work?
@PremierScottMoe
I mean... There are a lot of people out there that don't use a pickup truck for work and they're ridiculous for everyday urban driving... But wow this is a lame take on the issue.
@PremierScottMoe
If you read the article vs having a knee jerk reaction, you would see stuff like this:
"One survey found that three quarters of pickup drivers used the vehicles for hauling only one time or not at all in the course of an average year. "
@PremierScottMoe
😂 I don't think the pick up truck is an endangered species in SK, no need to get defensive, the article makes some valid points. I've heard Ford is developing an EV F150 how much will you tax it Mr Premier?
@PremierScottMoe
My neighbour has a family of 4 and 7 trucks. He does not require them for farm work or his job. He drives it to go to work and back. For most people they are not necessary. I have survived my whole live without one.
@PremierScottMoe
Today’s pick ups are more fuel efficient then some cars. 1000 Km on a tank is pretty awesome. For those of you not liking trucks on the road , move to Toronto or Vancouver. Simple !
@PremierScottMoe
Pickup trucks are convenient to own. SUV’s are basically the old panel trucks of the 50’s and 60’s. What truck makers have done with 10 speed transmissions, cylinder deactivation, aluminum structures and more is make them viable, sensible amd forward thinking. I personally 1/2
@PremierScottMoe
“Ridiculous.”-says man who taxes electric vehicles but favours large, expensive, emission pumping trucks that are oversized for todays commuting needs.

Can’t wait for the new Ford F-150 Lightning all electric. Also much safer to be in in a crash. Who cares why people own them? Is the writer not willing to acknowledge that some own Tesla’s for prestige or status?
@globeandmail
has lots of good articles. This isn’t one of them.
