Burnley gave Dyche £21m (net) to spend since the start of the summer 2017 transfer window. Investment in the squad was chronically low,yet he kept them in the PL for 6 seasons & even qualified for Europa League. His miraculous overachievement will go down in the PL history books.

Sadio Mané developed at Southampton as a 2nd striker with Graziano Pellè.He took LFC into the top 4 as a right winger. Salah arrived so he won the Premier League & Champions League as a left winger. He’s now spearheading their quadruple charge as a false 9. Premier League legend.

Forecasting the system that won Pep his treble 5 months before he implemented it on a full-time basis, with Akanji’s passing key for the Champions League winning goal. That’s the peak. It might be time for retirement from this app.

Manuel Akanji in at Man City? Not the cleanest defender but his passing range is top. Maybe Pep really is looking at using the 3-2-2-3 (3-box midfield-3) he used in the 2nd half vs Palace regularly. That system has a high burden on the CBs being top class at constructing build-up.

Messi should focus on dragging the aggressive Gvardiol out of his LCB position with intelligent movements into deeper positions. RDP/Álvarez should then see that as a trigger to make late runs into the space left in those inside right positions.

Tuchel’s hybrid 4-2-2-2/3-4-3 overloaded Conte’s midfield two. Conte then mirrored Tuchel’s on-ball shape with 4-4-2 & created the same midfield overloads that Chelsea caused them. Then Tuchel flipped to a standard 3-4-3 to bring more width vs Spurs’ back 4.Unreal tactical battle.

Dejan Kulusevski just delivered a top class performance at the Etihad. His defensive work rate vs Cancelo after the opening period, was phenomenal. And he then sprung transitions down the right flank to stretch Man City’s defence & create chances. He’s a top fit for Conte-ball.

That Van Dijk diagonal to Salah for the Origi winner produces so many goals for LFC. His defending is only one part of what he brings, his ball-playing ability from the back can break down any defensive shape.

Isak has Real Madrid striker DNA. It’s like he’s watched Benzema tapes with his style of play of being so good in small spaces.

When Jordan Henderson leaves LFC, they will finally realise how much he held them back.If Oxlade-Chamberlain never received the worst knee injury a footballer can have or if Fékir’s medical was passed,Liverpool win more in their Klopp glory era.Henderson was a technical obstacle.

A word for Nacho. He’s contributed to multiple La Liga and Champions League wins as a RB, LB & CB. He’s come into a CL semi-final with Alaba injured & produced a masterclass of cover defending by sweeping passes in-behind & monstrous 1v1 defending. The ultimate cult hero.

You never turn on managers like Jürgen Klopp & Thomas Tuchel who have shown such vast overachievement with the squad resources they’ve been given in the past and won trophies doing so. You work out a solution & try to support them. Particularly when there is a big squad turnover.

Saliba’s duelling both when tracking runs behind Arsenal’s high defensive line and when attackers are running at him in the box, is phenomenal. Perfect balance of composure/timing & using his physicality/athleticism. Colossus.

Reminder that James Milner was allowed to leave Man City in 2015 as they did not deem him worthy of the contract he wanted nor the minutes in midfield (rather than winger) that he wanted. 8 years later, Liverpool just started him at 37 years old in a double pivot at the Bernabéu.

👀 The Champions League final was a glimpse into Man City’s post-KDB future with Foden in midfield

Foden’s big role in midfield will come once De Bruyne’s minutes get cut down with his age. Pep’s 2-3 build-up structure requires a stabiliser like Bernardo/Gündoğan next to Rodri to help in first phase build-up & defend transitions. When KDB fades, Foden the midfielder will rise.

The ball-striking & dribbling of Kudus. The passing of Paquetá. And both share immense intensity off-the-ball and ability to manipulate the ball in tight spaces. Pair of ballers.

It could have been an Aké-Colwill-Christensen-James all academy defence, wow.

That’s a blow for European football. Messi is still a top 6 attacker in the world alongside Mbappé, Vinícius, Haaland, Salah, Kane.
