I'm coming to suspect many people don't realize this ... 🤔
@Catholic_bro @PracticalTheolo You do realize Jesus didn’t speak English right ?

If Genesis 1:26 establishes that God is tri-personal, isn't it odd that neither Jesus nor any of the NT authors thought it worth mentioning that fact? Instead, Jesus says in the beginning *He* (singular person, God) made humans male and female: "Have you not read that ***he***
Genesis 1:26: is not Trinity. Period. God says, Let us make man in our image. That does not mean God is three persons. The text never says Father, Son, Spirit. No co-equal gods hiding in the verse. If God wanted Trinity, He could’ve at least left a sticky note: PS: I’m

To a Biblical Unitarian, the Gethsemane prayer is a strong proof that Jesus and God are two distinct entities. If Jesus says, "Not my will, but yours," he is explicitly identifying two distinct "wills" and if there are two wills, there must be two separate centers of
Theology pro tip: if you have ever submitted your will to God's will, you are someone other than God.

"If I testify about myself, my testimony is not valid." (John 5:31) What a strange, strange thing for God to say!

I am looking forward to the debate between @mbird12 and @DaleTuggy on christology in March!
I like to think I've opened up a whole new theater of discussion about the making of early christology! https://t.co/vb74HqPZma

In traditional Trinitarian language, the one being of God consists of three persons, as expressed in the Greek noun "hypostasis." However, "hypostasis" does not mean "person" in the New Testament, nor in the Septuagint. I explore how the meaning of "hypostasis" changed over time

"There is something very odd not happening in the New Testament" Indeed.
There is something very odd not happening in the New Testament. There is no trace of any first century controversy about whether or not Jesus is the Almighty God or that God is “tri-personal.” The conduct of the Jews toward the disciples after Jesus’ death gives strong evidence

Very glad this conversation worked out and very glad that 5 individuals I feel honoured to call friends ended up involved. Disagreement need not always be dissent. https://t.co/xjw7o9ZL1p

Just another rake for Trinitarians to step on ...
Of all the goofy Trinitarian arguments I've heard, I have to say the 'lord lord' one is one of the goofiest. I suppose in a way it's a good thing that @InspiringPhilos is spreading rakes out everywhere for his fellow Trinitarians to go step on. 🤷♂️

@InspiringPhilos WRECKED on double vocative “lord, lord” proving Jesus is YHWH. 💣 When Jesus says “not everyone who says to me “lord, lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven,” (Matthew 7:21) he’s being called the title kurios in Greek, which means ruler, owner, or master —

Paul's speech at Acts 13:16-41 is the longest text we have attributed to Paul outside of his letters. How does Paul seem to understand God and Jesus there? Not surprisingly, it's similar to what you find in all clear statements in his letters! It starts with God, who acted

"This argument ignores a third biblical category: honor given to God’s commissioned representative." Yep.
The argument that “Unitarian Christology" will lead to idolatry (man-worship) is logically defective. Scripture itself authorizes high honor toward God’s appointed agent without collapsing into idolatry, precisely because the honor given to the agent is always constrained and

The Holy Spirit moves in very trick ways, I guess. 🤷♂️
@computerman8168 But they decided to be very tricky about this, always putting it in ambiguous verses while surrounding those verses with mountains of verses distinguishing God from Jesus. Very, very tricky, those authors! ;)

All praise to YAH that my eyes have been opened, the truth has been sharpened, and the word has been prioritized. Not being bound to a trinitarian doctrine feels sooo good… and all the names I’ve been called because of it is like water of a ducks back. 😁

Revelation 5:14 is often used by Trinitarians as a poof-text that Jesus = God, because there both Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb are worshiped. Therefore, Jesus must be God. But there's a much more straightforward option here: Jesus is worthy of some kind of

The earliest followers of Jesus offered worship to God and to the highly exalted human Messiah. The Holy Spirit, however, was never worshipped, sung to, or offered prayer. Learn more about the beliefs of the early Christians in my newest book https://t.co/WBtffF6JfZ

Maybe it’s the hubris of thinking the plain meaning of the 7 verses below are “easily refuted” ⬇️🤦🏻♂️ ✨John 14:28: "...for the Father is greater than I." ✨John 20:17: "...I ascend to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God." ✨John 17:3: "And this is eternal life,
Wondered why I couldn't bookmark his easily refuted comments on the Gospel of John. Was it something I said? :-)
