Once the shaking has begun, you can invite it into different parts of the body. Relaxing deeply into the experience, it will move where tension is held. For me, it's often in the shoulders and back.

Every body is different. Raising the pelvis off the floor can help to fatigue the muscles more. You will likely notice a tremoring in the legs by this point. You can allow it to happen beyond your conscious control.

To initiate the shaking response, lie down on a comfortable surface. Raise and bend your knees, pointing them slightly outwards. breathe from the belly and relax deeply on the exhale. Slowly bring your knees closer to each other.

TRE stands for trauma (and tension) release exercises. It uses the body's own ability to let go of stored stress. By tremoring, the nervous system can reset... which leads to deep states of relaxation.
