Started this account so I could finally talk comics with other people. Desperate to share my four-colour love.

A couple more pages of #JackKirby’s The Black Hole adaptation he did for Disney. Sorry for you English readers (myself included), as these are from a French reprint

“Home” by Jeffrey Catherine Jones from Phase #1. Jones did a few sci-fi stories with these astronauts. Or at least same types of suits

There’s not many artist-subject pairings in comics better fitting than Al Williamson and Star Wars…

I only have vague memories of the actual movie, but my brother and I had the read along cassette tape and book, and that evil robot used to terrify me

I know they are easily available online (and in a readable language for me!), but I bought on eBay a bunch of pages from a French magazine that reprinted #JackKirby’s Black Hole comic adaptation of the Disney movie. I just wanted to hold them in my hands and see Le Trou Noir!

Michael Golden’s cover for Marvel Fanfare #2 is even better than the first one! The thick lines and colours actually remind me a little of Paul Pope

Love the cover of Gene Day’s Black Zeppelin #1. The series was started by Day in the late 70s but wasn’t published til after his death. I just picked up the series after only getting into his work outside of Marvel this past year. It’s a good day to check out some Day.

“-No! Not me!” Bizarro and Superman are not at it again in Bizarro Comics, compliments of the great #PaulPope

Here’s the image that got it shredded. I guess it’s hard for me to imagine this influencing kids in a harmful way because it’s been hard for me to imagine kids reading comics any more. The story was reprinted in Bizarro Comics

Kyle Baker’s fun short story “Letitia Lerner, Superman’s Babysitter” won him an Eisner even though DC recalled and destroyed most copies of 1999’s Elseworld 80-Page Giant after a scene with the super baby being inside a microwave was deemed too inappropriate.

The opening page of The Swords of Heaven, The Flowers From Hell by Howard Chaykin, based on Erekose, one of Michael Moorcock’s incarnations of his Eternal Champion. Late 70s Chaykin is always fantastic!

I love the look and feel of Chip Kidd & Tony Millionaire’s Bat-Man strip from Bizarro Comics! Anything Batman involving Chip Kidd is usually a nice trip into some corner of the character’s lore, and here we see a look at the early days of Detective

Marvel Fanfare #1 cover by Michael Golden. I’m reading the series for the first time in the new(ish) omnibus. So far so good - Michael Golden pictures of dinosaurs is a fantastic way to spend a Saturday night

Matt Groening’s cover for 2002’s Bizarro Comics. In a time where superhero and indie comics seemed miles apart in style and content, this was a cool project that brought some of the best creators of the time to DC’s stable of characters and it was a great intro to their work

John Bolton is known for his horror, but he really delivers on his cover for Alien Encounters #4. And his classic style fits the retro EC-inspired 50s sci-fi perfectly
