Decided to start rereading one of my favourite crime comics of all time for Saturday morning comics! David Lapham’s Stray Bullets

A couple two-page spreads by Nestor Redondo from DC’s 1975 adaptation of The Bible - The Tower of Babel and the animals leaving Noah’s ark. Great art for the book, and these pages make good use of the oversized treasury format

I love this panel. “One World Under Doom” Wally Wood style.

“Unto You Is Born… Doomsman!” Too bad this nickname for Doctor Doom didn’t catch on. A great splash by #WallyWood for Astonishing Tales #1. I think this series is my favourite Wally Wood at Marvel

I love the composition of the second one. Just the silhouettes of the weapons to tell us all the context we need for the story.

This’ll be my last post on these issues, but I really love the couple shots of Green Arrow we get in #AlexToth’s Black Canary story. Toth loved that Errol Flynn-like character and his GA fits the bill. Why does Black Canary have a picture of him in his costume, though?

I’ve always had a soft spot for bog/swamp monsters in comics, but I’d never read one of the first - The Heap. Picked this up at my LCS today. They had me at the Brunner infinity cover, but looking forward to finding out why they heap so much praise on this early comic

Picked up Limited Collectors Edition C-36, otherwise known as DC’s treasury sized adaptation of the Christian Bible, at my LCS. Not religious myself, but looking forward to going through it! It’s from 1975 and features breakdowns by Joe Kubert and finishes by Nestor Redondo!
