Today, one of pupils had the opportunity to work alongside the head chef at the Rothesay Rooms, who is currently also his mentor. A chance to work in an industry kitchen with experienced chefs has been a fantastic confidence builder for our pupil. Also, had teacher perks! #DYW

What a busy day @PortyHE!! We held our annual staff Bonfire Lunch, catered and hosted by our S3 pupils and we also begun some important competition prep with two groups of pupils. Exciting times to come for team HE and we are always proud of our Porty pupils #proudofporty

Our two S3 classes were lucky enough to enjoy a ready, steady, cook mission today with Joe and Kat from the Royal Navy who shared there culinary knowledge but also shared lots of interesting information about navy careers and opportunities for our pupils! Thanks again 😄

A fantastic piece of homework by an S2 pupil. The task involved researching a protein source and explaining in detail as much as possible about it. This could include various varieties, other nutrients, where it comes from and it’s uses. Who knew eggs could be so interesting! 🍳
