What's the best Depeche Mode album for singing along to? So not necessarily the *best album* but the one you like to really belt out. In my mind there is a clearcut winner (and yes it is one of the options) but you may beg to differ... (Live albums and compilations not allowed..)

My dad died a couple of weeks ago. Today I was doing a barbecue for my family and my mum. A beautiful sunny day, Depeche Mode playing. Ghosts Again came on and it absolutely broke me into a million pieces but, if this makes any sense at all, in a good way. Time is fleeting.

Everything Counts at Crystal Palace. I sometimes get annoyed with old shaky camera footage but not here because it absolutely reflects what was happening. Complete bedlam. #DepecheMode

We all know Depeche Mode sampled John Bonham’s huge drum sounds from When The Levee Breaks for NLMDA. But go and put Houses Of The Holy on and tell me if it reminds you of anything. (No, I’m not suggesting they sampled it…)

For a while I thought it must be overdubbed or something, I just did not equate Depeche Mode with guitars AT ALL. But I had no problem with it once I'd adjusted. They could have released a double album of Dave farting into a bottle and I'd have still loved it.

I bought 101 on VHS the day it came out in 1989. To have my OWN VIDEO of Depeche Mode just being themselves, as well as *that* concert, was mind blowing. But what really detonated my tiny 14-year-old brain was this scene of Martin playing the guitar. Like, WHAT? WHAT IS THIS?

Five little words to wrap up this Memento Mori Tour. Depeche Mode bid auf Wiedersehen in Köln. There was just under 4 years and 8 months between the end of the Spirit tour and the start of this one. So we'll do all of this again towards the end of 2028, shall we? Splendid.

Love the fact that he has been holding audiences in the palm of his hand for over 40 years, but speaking directly to them he's completely human, appreciates everyone and his own place within the beast that is Depeche Mode. Bravo Dave. Proud to be a fan.
