Starved of resources, riddled with criminal infiltration, crippled by weak leadership and warped by ANC political interference. That’s the SAPS laid bare by sworn testimony before the Madlanga Commission. There’re good reasons to fear that the SANDF is no different. WSM’s column

Though he is being ridiculed over this exchange, it is perfectly possible Brown Mogotsi served on an SDU in 1993 as a 16 or even 14 year old. They also did not vanish in a puff of smoke at the end of 1993, when MK was nominally disbanded. KZN SDUs were still running operations

🚨🔎CROWD SOURCING RESEARCH QUERY: Below is a picture of a liberation movement operative. He passed away many years ago, allegedly under suspicious circumstances. Does anyone know in which camps he received his training, while in exile, under whose command he served before

The ANC fought tooth and nail for a constitution that would not meaningfully restrain their racial nationalist agenda. That they may have succeeded, in parts, does not mean that that the racial nationalist programme they subsequently implemented is not racial nationalist.

This entire "race" law narrative is just so intellectually dishonest. Just say you're against the concept of substantive equality, as entrenched in section 9(2) of the Constitution, and as recognised as a foundational value in section 1(a).

This is what was described in the late totalitarianism in Eastern Europe as the requirement to 'live the lie'. Ordinary people are required by the regime to submit to incompatible obligations. Firstly, they must accept that it is a moral imperative for there to be a plethora of

The GNU's ‘strategic retreat’ was a love-fest. CR speaks of ‘quiet and nice joy’; Gayton Mckenzie says the spirit is at ‘holy’ levels. But theGNU doesn’t need Kumbaya, it needs hard negotiating between the partners to bring real policy shifts. WSM’s column on @Politicsweb.

Ramaphosa set up the Madlanga Commission to cauterise the public effect of the ANC–SAPS–crime cartel links. Instead, each day widens the toxic ring and will stain CR’s legacy as indelibly as state looting did Zuma’s. WSM’s column on @Politicsweb. https://t.co/VdC4kvsm1C

With SA’s official diplomacy in the US collapsed, a galvanised citizenry, business leaders, and community groups have stepped up. In open societies, governments welcome such parallel diplomacy, here the ANC wants to charge them with treason. WSM’s column on @Politicsweb.

The #JusticeForCweCwe campaign is now all but forgotten. It was an explosion of social hysteria fueled by as much by racism and political posturing as any real concern over child rape. WSM’s column on @Politicsweb. https://t.co/FdKiaqc6fz

Corruption thrives under the ANC because the rule of law has steadily been replaced by populist justice — investigations, arrests and prosecutions are shaped by political influencing and intimidation. WSM’s column on @Politicsweb. https://t.co/Qhh8kIp1M7

Xenophobic violence doesn’t spring from a vacuum. It’s the last-resort and predictable — though never justifiable — reaction of excluded citizens who believe, often perfectly correctly, that their jobs, services and social fabric are being eroded by foreigners. WSM's column on

The state capture of the Zuma era was just the start. Under Ramaphosa, it’s got deeper, broader, stronger. Corruption is no longer an aberration but SA’s default condition. WSM’s column on @Politicsweb. https://t.co/tqu9A4w2YU

The ANC and MTN are like debris circling a plughole. Both are caught in the vortex of an Iranian whirlpool unleashed by the US. Linked by execs who shuttle between party and boardroom, they're beginning to grasp the high cost of their embrace of Tehran. WSM's column on

The military tilts Islamist. It’s simply not feasible that the Chief of SANDF could go to Tehran and talk alliances with Iran without the ministers of DIRCO and DoD — never mind Ramaphosa — having foreknowledge. Heads must roll. WSM’s column on @Politicsweb.
