For Earth Day on Monday, we read some books in @Novel_Effect , learned about watersheds, completed an escape room in @Seesaw and decorated and planted some flowers. We can’t wait to see our flowers grow!

We continue our study of the Southwest region,we learned about 10 stops to visit while there.After reading each section,Ss determined the most important details and created a postcard.Then classmates rotated around the room to collect details for each spot in the travel journal.

As we learned about the Branches of Government in ELA and social studies, this lesson from @Seesaw was really helpful in giving students additional information. They then wrote an essay comparing the levels of government and the branches.

In math we’re studying the conversions of meter to kilometer. We know it is 1,000 meter sticks to equal 1km.We were curious to see how many meters long the hallway is.We then thought how many times we would have to go up and down the hall to equal 1km.The hallway was almost 58m!

Great growth on our MAP testing! We surpassed our goal in both reading and math. As a class we felt we had really good growth in math and want to grow more in reading. We set a goal to read more at home.

Peer conferencing with our essays. One student reads their essay while the other student listens and checks the rubric. The peer also has a checklist of what they are looking for. Then they give feedback and give the checklist back to their peer so they can make corrections.

Continued our life science unit by using the Easi-Scope microscope to analyze the different parts of a plant. Then created a presentation in @_google.slides_ explaining which part of the plant is the most important. Thank you to @aeagreenhills for the microscopes. 🌱 🌸 #cbcsd
