I think Sony is realizing that it's going to get increasingly harder to sell expensive hardware as inflation & tariffs wreak havoc on tech prices. PS5 Pro is $700 and just too expensive for the casual consumer. PS6 "could" be just as expensive or more so they need to shift over.

Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch 2 comes in at a whopping 78.5 GB while the Switch 1 version was about 30 GB. Switch 2 is far more capable so the file sizes are going to be closer inline with Xbox and PlayStation on a lot of games.
