Facts of life as a Malaysian nurse. Why am I mistreated in the only country that I call home?!?!
1/3
π Employed by 3 giant private hospitals in Klang Valley βͺοΈ I was humiliated & bullied in 2 of these hospitals by immediate nursing managers.
2/3
π Employed by 3 different military hospitals in Saudi Arabia βͺοΈ I was promoted into nursing administration/management positions (without me having to apply) on 3 different occasions. Each time, a better position!
3/3
π Employed by 1 university hospital in Sweden that happened by "chance" βͺοΈ I'm offered free education, opportunities to climb the career ladder (I'm at my 4th big step) although I'm NOT a citizen of this country.

I'm sorry you had to experience that! Malaysia needs to confront the ugly truth about the deep seated racism that has been normalized. It's holding us back as a nation and it's embarrassing that it's still a problem even now.
@PiscesWoman9
Thank you for highlighting whatβs wrong w Malaysia . Go whr u r appreciated . Go whr ur fairly compensated . The world is your oyster .
@domesticgod8
The purpose was to highlight that we Malaysians are good at what we do but we do not get the opportunity to be on the same platform and given equal opportunity to excel and be part of building a better Malaysia for all.
@PiscesWoman9
I do think the systemic racism is huge here, but i also like to add that the level of EQ is so far off, that they work of the 1 way they know how. Instilling fear in order for work to get done. This has been is so many different fields. I am sorry that youve experienced this. β€οΈ

Thank you for being compasionate. As a Malaysian, I am embarrassed to admit what some of us had to go through just to be able to provide for the family. But things are brighter for me. What about those that are currently going through what I did?
