#OTD in 1908, Henry Ford finished production of the 1st Model T at @FordPlant building on Piquette Ave in Detroit. The idea for the Model T came from a desire for a durable, low cost car for the common man, but making a Model T by hand took about 12 hours. #ThisDayInAutoHeritage

Friday, July 28, “Under the Hood Day” will feature EV owners and their vehicle’s operating systems and provenance. The antique EV exhibit will be located on the first floor of the museum, an area of the #Historic Landmark building that has not been open to the public for decades

EVs Then and Now – July 28-30 On the anniversary of Henry Ford's 160th birthday, a special exhibit will showcase a unique collection of antique electric vehicles from the 1900’s through the 1920’s. Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets on website.

#OTD in 1896, Henry Ford unveiled his first vehicle, the Quadricycle, in Detroit. Weighing 500 lbs, the ethanol-powered auto’s 2-cylinder engine produced 4 hp, with a top speed of 20 mph, 2 gears (no reverse), 4 bike tires & a tiller steering mechanism. #ThisDayInAutoHeritage
