We are in the bizarre position that the last set of ERC Grant awardees in the UK have to reject their grant so that the UK Government will pick up the tab. .

That's it - we can no longer apply for ERC grants. UK Science is currently in a sad place. We are unable to take to take a full part in the European scientific community that we find so welcoming and beneficial.
