A Statistical comparison for All the ODI Batters with 5000+ Runs (98 + Klusener & Pietersen, so an even 100) I used Top 7 Avg & SR of other batters in same games & then measured how much better the Player was. The Overall Ratio is the Geometric Mean of Average & SR Ratio (1/n)

Lance Klusener was good with either the Bat or Ball against all the teams he played against in his ODI career (other than Bangladesh but very little sample size vs them).

Between 1999–2004, only 7 players scored 1000+ ODI runs batting at No.7 or lower. Six of them averaged under 35. Then there was Klusener: 🔹 78 matches, 1,649 runs 🔹 Average: 54.96 🔹 50+ scores: 11 🔹 Strike Rate: touching 90 Happy Birthday, Zulu! 🎉 https://t.co/ENF3UuMxL2

Forget SA or ABCD, there are Good chances you haven't seen an ODI game from Ball 1 to the last Ball in your life (other than maybe the WC games) I'm not sure how many of the post 2020 fans have the attention span to watch a full ODI game.

A look at the performance of batters in the 100-test-match club in games with match averages of above and below 30, respectively. Smith leads the way with a significant gap in >30 match avg games, while AB De Villiers is on top in lower-scoring games.

Was AB de Villiers the best ODI batsman in the 2005-2015 time frame ? Most likely yes. This plot consists of batsmen who scored more than 3500+ runs in this time frame against the top 8 nations. Have excluded batting numbers against other nations. 5 batsmen manage a SR >90 and

India should have trusted Surya more on the day of the Finals. At least one of KL Rahul & Virat Kohli should've tried to play more aggressively. Because allowing Australia to simply bowl at us was always gonna cripple India if even 1 wicket fell which happened when Kohli got out.

400 is never going to be the norm. Australia lost the ODI Series & South Africa were the ones who actually won the ODI Series and they didn't even make 300 in the whole series.

This Cameron Green Century is an Indication how ODIs is going to be played in future, 50 - 60 balls hundred will become a norm till 2027 WC. It's High time For India to change It's ODI approach too, need to introduce some High SR players in ODIs Too. Probably Jaiswal in Place

South Africa has chased 350+ in International Cricket 3 times and all 3 have been against Australia. In total Australia has let the opposition chase 350+ against them 7 times international cricket which is the most.

A lot of this is also down to just playing with some really great batters at their peak & also comparatively more flatter pitches.
