In the last few weeks we've seen stunning performances of Les Mis and Phantom, but tonight we are going to be watching the greatest musical ever created. Dune: The Musical. I believe there are still tickets left for tonight and Sunday. https://t.co/kaSYzUBeeB

I don't like mnemonics. My brain always breaks them. "Spring forward, fall back" they say? So in Spring, does the clock get pushed forward an hour relative to us or do we skip forward an hour relative to the clock? Every year I have to think hard about this. Damned mnemonics.

Year 11s who are thinking of studying A-Level physics next year, or year 12s who found the transition to A-Level Physics difficult, I've recorded a complete GCSE to A-Level transition lesson. You can watch the entire thing here:

I watched the most spectacular show at the Edinburgh Fringe festival. 'Dune! The Musical'. I watched it a second time. The performer kindly agreed to do a special performance just to my students on this school trip. What an experience and what a great show! #edinburghfringe

When I was growing up, adverts led me to believe denture adhesive would play a far bigger role in my life than it actually does.

Naked piano can mean only one of two things. Either I'm about to teach about the fundamental frequency of waves on strings... or it's piano tuning day!!!

Huh, looks like my Twitter Bot has conked out again, but my Facebook Bot and Discord Bot are still going strong. Happy 54th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing everyone

One day colloquial definitions will match physics definitions: correct definitions. But today is not that day 😔

(shame on the parents for letting their 9 year olds use platforms where the terms of use state only 13+ are allowed)

To me, this is an extremely topsy-turvy activity! It sends entirely the wrong message. Making young people who don't use social media feel isolated is not the way to discourage an addiction to social media. To me that's common sense.

My daughter is in Year 4. They recently did an activity in groups where they had to name social media platforms based on the logos. My daughter has no knowledge of this at all, and so felt left out, whilst those who use social media were celebrated for their knowledge. They're 9.

Me: "Why have you chosen chemistry rather than physics for your A Levels? You're an exceptional physicist." Student(s): "Just in case I decided to go into medicine. I want to keep my options open." So frustrating. As if Chemists would make better medics than Physicists 😔

In the past it was considered normal to read out loud and really odd if someone read in their head. Now, it's considered normal to gesticulate while talking... I wonder if it will be considered normal to stand perfectly as still and rigid whilst talking in the future?
