What started as a mild COVID infection has spiraled into an extremely severe case of Long COVID and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. Over the past 2 years, I’ve suffered numerous life-altering seizures and have been hospitalized multiple times. The last seizure left me completely

1) OMG we did it‼️‼️ In this film for #MEawarenessmonth, five medical doctors open up about living with #PAIS/#IACC conditions like ME, #longCOVID, and chronic #Lyme. It’s a format that I believe has never been shown before, not just in the Netherlands https://t.co/XxPQ9bQxI3

Before becoming severely disabled I was an engineer and built a lot of cool things (some of which millions of people are using now). Ever since a child I’ve loved science and the applications of it. It is not without fault or risks, but it is the only methodology that has allowed

Severe and very severe ME/CFS patients are the sickest patients I’ve ever seen - even compared to septic transplant or end-stage cancer patients. The unrelenting suffering and lack of research or definitive treatments puts severe ME/CFS on another level. Nothing compares...

It’s been really hard last few weeks. Symptoms and crashes really severe. I’m trying my best. I’m not sure who’s going to see this but I need a bit of light. 😞 #LongCovid #pwME

#LongCOVID isn’t just “post-virus fatigue.” A new review maps out how the nervous system + immune system cross-talk drives symptoms like brain fog, dysautonomia, neuropathy & fatigue. It draws from autopsies, animal models & human data to piece together the neuroimmune puzzle.

🧬 New finding: Low serum ROCK1 levels have been identified in our Long COVID and ME/CFS @amaticahealth cohort. ROCK1 is a regulatory protein involved in stress response, immune activity, and autophagy (cell recycling). Possibly having relevance in disease mechanisms.

Hi #pwLC and #pwME, if you are able please consider sending a blood sample to @amaticahealth. Please only do so if you can afford it and the draw doesn’t cause a crash (especially in severe patients). Providing this sample is all I can do in my current state. Objective data in

The complement system detects & eliminates pathogens; however, when overactivated, it can become harmful to the host. Rafael Bayarri-Olmos et al. summarize the latest understanding of the role of complement in #LongCOVID pathogenesis (open access)👇🏼 (1/) https://t.co/7jdUVw7Ba7
