Some great letters in the Guardian in response to my latest opinion piece. And some more tenacious letters defending Scouts from my mild critiques, all of which misgender me.

Woodcraft Folk, the leftwing alternative to Scouts, turns 100 this year. If Keir Starmer really wants to empower young people, Britain's oldest co-educational youth movement has much to teach him.

the effort the bbc is going to keep these two disgraced white dudes on air contrasted with the effort it went to to censor that black punk band's strongly worded condemnation of an army under investigation for genocide and led by a man wanted for war crimes boggles my mind

Is this a precursor to the Co-operative Party abandoning their long-standing (and one-sided) electoral agreement with Labour? Could be huge if so.

🚨 NEW: The Co-operative Party is Britain’s fourth-largest party in Parliament. But in BBC output, our representatives are often labelled simply as “Labour”. We asked how often this happens, but the BBC refused to say. Today, we’re asking for answers.

No surprise at all that the founder of @LabourYIMBY has joined the Tories. The Yimby agenda in the UK is a scam, wrapped up in right wing dreams of deregulation and private property development rather than a sincere vision for reducing housing costs.

Yesterday I lent a neighbour a belt sander and electric planer, This morning other neighbours were locked in their bedroom after their doorknob broke so threw me a key of the window so I could enter the flat and free them. Community is is useful!.

I was at a children's camp this last week. At one point a young volunteer, referring to a friend, said, somewhat awestruck, "he's so rich that he can afford his own home". That's where we've come to, country where just being able to rent a flat feels dizzyingly out of reach.

This is, actually, a very good thing. The practice of British landowners demanding the astronomical prices for development land because the UK has no effective way of regulating land values is a huge contributor to the housing crisis.

Why can't we design beautiful social housing anymore? That was the question The New World magazine asked me recently and it's a good one. Here's my answer:

Social housing in the UK has a reputation for drabness. Other countries have done it far better – it’s time to learn from the ones who got it right

Another example of why the price of land should be regulated. Allowing landowners to set whatever price they can get away with for land is ruinous for everyone – even, in this case, sports giants.
