For any Halifax folk, we’re playing @GraystonThe on 12th April - it’s a fundraiser for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, a charity which is close to my heart because they looked after my brother when he was tiny x Tickets:

Thanks to everyone who has helped with our fundraising so far this month. I’ve been trying to raise £400 to pay off a bank loan taken out to cover previous losses. £266 raised so far. If you can help (and want to) then check out our merch page https://t.co/MxbRdLsNZP Thanks

We’re supporting Wakefield indie pop legends The Research at The Brudenell in a week and a bit! It’s our first gig in Leeds in ages, can’t wait :-)
They split up back in 2008, but they're back! The Research are coming to The Brudenell for a free entry show on Sunday 14th January. 💥 🙌🏻 Get the date in your diary, you don't want to miss this... ⚡️ ➡️ https://t.co/QT6kt9iXBF

As there are so many left, I am selling them for £2 each. I think it’s a good collection (see track listing in photo) and it’s got ace artwork by Russell from The Research. The digital copy also includes a compilation of covers by various PHOP bands of other PHOP bands.

I wasn’t successful so changed to a double CD which was more affordable. Some of the tracks were still on a physical format for the first time but I don’t think it had the same impact as vinyl could have. It probably could have just been on one CD as well, maybe even digital only

Initially the compilation was meant to be a double vinyl release. Most of the tracks would be on vinyl for the first time. Some had only be available digitally before. It was obviously going to be expensive so I tried to get funding to release it.

While it did certainly celebrate the label - I think the 22 tracks certainly highlight the wealth of great stuff I was fortunate enough to release - financially it didn’t work and lost money instead of raising any.

The first release to highlight is the Wanna Buy A Record? compilation. This release after all was a celebration of the first ten years of the label. It was also hoped to raise some money for clear debt.

Please help if and where you can. Buy if you can, download a track, spread the word to others. From many raindrops a river flows

I appreciate a number of you already have some of these, and some that don’t have them don’t want them. It is, however, a final squeeze on these to (hopefully) pay off the loan that was taken out (in 2019) to draw a line under the spending of the previous decade.

So in the spirit of two birds, one stone, I am going to post throughout January about the releases on which we lost money and still have copies left (I think there’s 14 of these).

most pressing is paying off the last £400 of the bank loan on older stuff. With expected loss of streaming revenue on back catalogue this feels important to free up what revenue we do have to spend on new stuff. also be good to clear some physical space for new physical releases.

As mentioned the other week there is no intention of stopping Philophobia BUT there are one or two things we need to address. I have lots of thoughts and plans to manage spending with a smaller and less active roster. More of those will follow in the coming months.
