This is the chance to scupper Starmer. Seven Labour MPs have the opportunity to sit as independents, at Starmerβs own instruction. No defections needed. Oppose from within. Collaborate with other Independents and parties. Recruit more to the cause. Build an alternative.

The paramedics on #Ambulance speaking such sense, and showing compassion with personal insight. There are too many cracks in the system. And we need a social care system that supports the NHS. Not one that hampers it. All people need support, at some point.

Two weeks ago in Abbey Wood a driver deliberately swerved at & ran over a hijabi woman in broad daylight. (CW: the CCTV footage is terrifying.) Mainstream UK media havenβt mentioned it once. https://t.co/0Lcy8brOQ4

Attacking Jewish ambulances is wrong. So is attacking Muslims peacefully praying in public. So letβs not do either. Deal?

(To add - speculation that this was an inside job, an insurance fraud etc are equally desperate and unhelpful accusations, and only fuel division further.) The distinction between state & religion needs to be drawn and honoured by all. But that is a desperate, unrealistic hope.

Many people are rightfully condemning this incident. But their motivations are not all entirely honourable either. Antisemitism is appalling. So are false/confected accusations of it to drum up division, dissent and endangerment. It all needs to stop.

The motivations of those who committed this act are unknown, but the hope is they are quickly identified and duly punished for their crime.

But some people fail to make that distinction. In part through their own ignorance, but also because of the deliberate and cynical conflation of religion and state, and the wilful abuse of the βantisemiticβ term. This actively dangers innocent people.

Jewish people, Jewish organisations or establishments are in NO way culpable for the heinous actions of the Israeli government. They are entirely innocent, and attacks on them are utterly appalling, and should be rightfully condemned.

The destruction of ambulances in London is a despicable & reprehensible act. But what those now utilising this crime to further their agenda will never acknowledge is that the deliberate, conflation of religion & state is directly responsible for endangering people & property.

Condolences to Igor Tudor, on an apparent family bereavement. Things like that far transcend football. Itβs only a game. Hope the club support him, and give him some time to grieve. #TOTNFO

A lot of people are citing the Diana impression as a reason for SNL UK being a success. Okay. But she died nearly 30 years ago. Isnβt it supposed to be topical and satirical? Are they going to shoehorn that in on a regular basis?

The Israeli defence minister has condemned Iranβs use of cluster bombs, calling it a ββwar crimeβ. Thing is, Israel uses them too. And both Israel and Iran refused to support their prohibition. Itβs beyond pathetic at this stage. Every accusation is an admission.

Accusing people of not condemning the execution of people in Iran while endorsing both illegal wars, genocide and apartheid is not the win you think it is.

I said before, the reason why the far right loathe London with a vengeance is because they cannot bear to see people of all races, faiths, creeds and colours living alongside each other comfortably. They do their level best to stir up hatred and division among us all because for
Itβs Eid today, and I just watched 3 strangers in a cafΓ© wish a mother and her daughter βHappy Eid.β Those wishing werenβt Muslim. It didnβt matter. Yet again moments like this are what make London special: people choosing connection over division, and kindness over the noise

If you want to know what Nelson thought of Muslims, you may want to factor in Nelson's column. See that thing on his hat? It is a 'chelengk'. Nelson was the first non-Muslim to be awarded one - as thanks for his victory in the Battle of the Nile. It was gifted to him by Sultan
What we witnessed in London at the historic Trafalgar Square, in a country built on Judeo-Christian values, was a group of people attempting dominance over our capital city and our culture. We are not going to surrender everything that was built over centuries and defended at

This post is very, very misleading. No-one has voted for abortion up to birth. The legal time limit for abortion remains 24 weeks, and the time limit for supply of abortion pills by post remains 10 weeks. What the new law does is end the criminalisation of women for late
The Lords voted 185 - 148 in favour of abortion up to birth. Peers also rejected an amendment to reintroduce in-person medical appointments before women can obtain abortion pills by 191 - 119.
