Here's my excuse: they're ugly as hell. High 7 figs is all the money anyone should ever rationally want. Beauty matters above all, at all times. Compromising beauty for the sake of money makes especially little sense once you're wealthy.
if you have high 7 or 8+ figs, you have no excuse not to own a Punk and an Autoglyph. if you buy literally no other NFTs, these are the 2 you want to lock up and throw away the key (ok don’t throw it away fr). there are ofc many others, but these are the baseline for crypto HNWIs.

2) PMs are more honest and transparent. The multipliers for winning are much lower. You have to put more capital at risk. 3) Oracles are tricky in controversial markets. Wins are occasionally overruled. Not as important as the other two points, but participates to disengagement.

But PMs have other problems. 1) They overtly require domain expertise. Liquidity is fragmented. Besides, most people are not experts. In memecoins and trading, great effort is spent to sell you the idea it's luck *or* that you can buy an edge with a tool or magical lines.

I predict prediction markets will not replace memecoins anytime soon. PMs share the same problem as memecoins: they're winner-take-most games, so a minority must convince a majority to come get fleeced.
Prediction markets are the next memecoins. People just want a place to speculate. Prediction markets do it better.
