A Surgeon’s surgeon and a true gentleman died this week He loved to teach, a knowing twinkle in his eye “Feel the skin, feel the fascia, feel the bowels, feel the back muscles, feel the mattress, feel the bed frame, now what colour are my shoes?! Godspeed Mr Hy Browne

It has not been a good week We lost another surgical warrior in Prof Dermot Hehir today. A pioneer of minimally invasive hernia repair in Ireland, we travelled from all over Ireland for him to take care of us. We shall miss you but are so much better for having known you

You don’t get to stoke the fire at the beginning of the tournament by labelling our anti-racism message as ‘Gesture Politics’ & then pretend to be disgusted when the very thing we’re campaigning against, happens.
I am disgusted that @England players who have given so much for our country this summer have been subject to vile racist abuse on social media. It has no place in our country and I back the police to hold those responsible accountable.

We regret to announce death of Mr Dan Kelly. Mr Kelly graduated from UCD in 1957 and worked principally as a Consultant Urologist in St Vincent's Hospital in Dublin. He was a founding member of the @ISU_Urology and was an admired and respected colleague and surgeon. RIP.

I’m flying free now, having separated from the Centaur. That was quite a ride! Thank you, @ULAlaunch and @NASA_LSP. ⭐ #CountdownToMars

First Centaur burn is complete. Now a bit of relative calm, as I coast for ~30 mins in Earth orbit, in preparation for burn No. 2. That’s what will send me interplanetary. #CountdownToMars

Could not agree more! Along with ‘normalcy’ and ‘surgeries’ and ‘survivorship’ and ‘anxiousness’.

Fully agree John. Prospects for healthcare in Ireland are now looking much brighter. Stephen Donnelly has already demonstrated a very clear understanding of how to progress towards a functional healthcare system
Stephen Donnelly was probably the most impressive parliamentarian I met while in Seanad. Very clear thinker with an extremely analytical mind. Delighted he is in cabinet and very pleased that he is Minister of Health.

15/ The public queue is now simply longer than it ever was. I can absolutely promise you that no “pathways” have been put in place to ensure continuity of care for patients during this crisis.

17/ It’s about patients, it’s about people trying to ensure they can access their care with the doctor that has cared for them for years. Public or private, its irrelevant.

The above excellent and timely analysis by @ohanloncmr should be widely publicised.
