Badly integrated individuals have divided souls. Badly integrated families have black sheep. Badly integrated teams have cliques. Badly integrated societies have ghettos. Badly integrated regions have rogue states.

The Taliban had 150,000 fighters and couldn’t be neutralised by the US. Iran has 1-1.5 million, this doesn’t include their proxies and implicit support from China and Russia. A boots on ground war on Iran is a suicide mission.

The US needs an introverted strategist to lead it, but someone like that would likely lack the gravitas to win an election.

Trump is a tactician not a strategist. Restricting China from the latest processors only made them more self sufficient. Tariffs made trade with China more appealing for US allies. Bombing Iran would weaken Israel in the long term by provoking Iran’s proxies.

the US go bankrupt. Their aim is not to “win” it’s to make it so expensive for their enemies to fight them, they exhaust themselves financially and politically.

Iran has designed their political and military system to defeat the US and Israel via succession redundancy and asymmetric warfare. Replacing the regime is virtually impossible, it’s like cutting off the head of a hydra. A large scale war will play into their hands, they want….

Autocracies have the advantage in long wars, they outlast political cycles, they are ideologically cohesive and fanatical, they can lose millions of lives (e.g. Russia in WW2) and not be deterred.

If the US goes to war with Iran it will hasten the collapse of the dollar, which is already a mathematical certainty. The US is not good at fighting long wars. Their military is optimised for short, shock and awe campaigns. Iran will erode their forces over time, it doesn’t….

It would need a rudimentary AGI system to be useful. Early versions could download house schematics so they have a map of the local environment but ultimately you would want them to learn about their environments like we do.

A consumer bipedal robot would have to deal with;.Facial recognition from oblique angles.Object detection .Voice recognition .Visual and aural noise filtering.Terrain mapping.Lumpy terrain navigation .Proprioception.Smoke and carbon monoxide detection?.Task hierarchies….

People who say AGI won’t appear for 1000 years are right, people who say it will appear within 5 years are also right. The former is referring to the equivalent of adult human level intelligence, the latter to a toddler.

No reliable LLMs until Deep Learning is integrated with Symbolic Reasoning. No reliable agents until AGI. No AGI until probabilistic reasoning is integrated with Reinforcement Learning and Deep Learning.

Releasing YouTube videos again has reminded me that your biggest supporters are often strangers. There is enough distance between you and them not to inspire comparison.
